I am in Livonia. South of Rochester. I have variety of chickens some pure and some mixed. If anyone wants eggs or chicks let me know. My rooster is a black copper maran. Hens vary from rir, americana, nakedneck, silkie, barred rock and a few mutts. I have a couple naked neck silkie crosses that look neat with the black skin. Keep warm!!

Hi, everyone! I'm about 15 miles east (southeast?) of Ithaca. I'm new here, and have been reading as much as possible because my new babies will get here this week.
It's nice to see so many people here from NY... I'm in a teeny tiny town, and don't know many "chicken folk".

Good Morning, Everybody!!!!
It's way TOO COLD out there.....10-15 below (with the wind chill) here in Ulster Heights, Ellenville!!! Definitely my least favorite time of year. I'm surprised that the chickens venture outside at all....even for a few minutes at a time!!! Nothing stops the ducks and geese from being outside for a while...even splashing around in the water (it makes me shiver just watching them...smile). I can't wait for a heat wave in the 30's or 40's to return!!!
Welcome to all the newcomers to this NY thread......willheveland, chickeypeep101, rcentner, philbee, ChicksNPigs and rancher hicks!!! The more, the merrier!!! It's great to connect with and share with other NY poultry fanciers!!!
