jlaw,

we'll have a completely enclosed pen for my peace of mind. Hubby found some kind of strong wire mesh with small diameter holes that comes in panels -- not rolls. I am afraid to ask how much it costs. The bonus is that we won't have to wrestle with the stinking rolls of wire, the ends of which always seem to find exposed flesh. The roofing of the pen is what we're contemplating most. Plexi-sheets or something...not sure. We get so much wind here on the ridge over the lake.

Hi All,
I have huge pine trees in my yard, so consequently lots of dried up pine needles on the ground. I'd like to use the needles for bedding in the nest boxes and possibly in the coop. What 'd think ?? Opinions please

Pine needles sound great to me. But if I had them, I'd put them around my blueberries, or holly, or azaleas, rhodies...all those acid loving plants that don't grow here. I think it would be great for litter.
