Good morning all I put out some flowers in the garden as well and finally my veggies are starting to sprout, yayy!!! I'm slowly buying periennals weekly to add to the my backyard on raised beds so my chicks or dogs don't get any ideas. I'm so pleased with my compost, this year is full of first I seem to be doing pretty well!!! My chickens are still only allowed to forage in a chicken tractor as I keep finding wires glass shards and other dangerous debri that I already had to take the dog to the vet for. Man the people who owned my house before really trashed the place, but I'm slowly getting all back to a nice urban farm I call Nisber Homestead. Hopefully today I will get some more yard work done I think I have only one section to check for debri and girls can free range. And I can make some signs for the property.Nothing chicken related to say today, but I got a lot of my plants into the garden. Figured it was a good time since it is supposed to rain on and off all week. I have hose enough to go from house to garden, but it gets darn heavy dragging it across the grass. First Ray put up the fence so the chickens can start forgetting where the nice soft soil is to dig in. (My lawn is hard clay, so they are always looking for a soft spot to dig in. Never occurs to them to use the pile of soil I put by the chicken coop. Bird brains, I swear they are all bird brains)

oh very exciting I won't be hatching eggs until next year, I'm still waiting for my younger girls (13weeks) to start laying which should be starting in about 5weeks. One already has developed her comb and is turning very red, my son though she was bleeding a few weeks ago.I too got some veggies in the ground this weekend-- however I was just reminded that I have some flower bulbs from my mother that I forgot to plant :-(
Also, I should start seeing the veining in the eggs if any of them are fertile (and I haven't killed them with my inexperience) either tomorrow or the next day!
Soft kitty, warm kitty, little ball of fur....purr
