Just heard this heat and humidity are NOT supposed to break as was originally announced. Several more days of this. Ugh!!! Poor chickies....poor us!

Well another chick broke a piece of shell hope it hatches soon to get this little guy a friend. I wish I knew what all breeds these chicks could be. The fun of buying random eggs from 3 different farms.

Yay!!! A new layer! There was a very small egg laid under my ramp going up to the coop today. The red sex links are just beginning to be mated with, so I figured it would be any time now. There are 12 of those, and then 2 weeks younger are 15 tetra tints just about to come in to lay. So they may actually pay for their own feed soon!

I still have the incubator going in the basement, but I'm quite sure all the eggs are done for. They are the ones that I accidentally got to 105' for a few hours, so I'm pretty sure they are toast. Just in case, I let the incubator go. They *were* due to hatch Monday, but I'm not expecting anything.

Has anyone everyone ever heard of this? Thinking about trying it for the flies hovering under my porch roof....

It looks like something else is in there to me. Is that so? I do know that copper messes with the electric system on slugs so copper is used to surround plants. Slugs won't cross it. I've seen people who place a circle of pennies around the base of their plants too.

Wonder if that's it.

Congrats to anyone with new chicks.

Tough day at work today, but I survived. I hate to complain cuz I like my job really. Just learnin the ropes.

I haven't collected the eggs from the broody hens or have it? I don't remember. No I think not. I have to wear a glove they are very hard on me. Very determined hens. I did give them eggs but have to collect the days' eggs the other hens lay in there. I need more nest boxes and places to stick broody hens.

Heck I need a coop just for broodies.

Take care and hope no one gets hurt with this rain and thunder storms.
