Another wretched day of scorching heat and humidity. Everyone stay safe and keep hydrated! My birds are handling things well enough, thank God. Hopefully, this will break over the weekend as promised.

My 2 boys are feeding the chickies some grapes now. Good snack in this hot weather!

I have prepped 2 nesting boxes for Helen the Marans. She has such a bright red comb and wattle. I wonder when........ ?! (Rancher, any sign of her sister laying yet?)

JAY: Loved the surprise quacky visitor to your yard! How sweet!

Jayin, I love the video that is awesome!

TOB I hope your's lays soon.

I have these Amber sex Links 20weeks old this is one of them with a very large comb (large when compared to the rest) red and red wattle, I hope she's going to be laying soon and not just trying to eat my shoe laces.

worked in shorts and sandals all day. My kinda work day

So I put an ad on Craigslist to try to get rid of 5 of my 3 month old roosters. I had a guy respond today saying he would give me $10 for all 5 of them because he wanted to get them for his nephews...ugh I think I should take the ad down, I'm so paranoid of people being interested in them for fighting. I really don't care if they want to buy them all so they can have them processed but really? I think I just need to "man up" and cull them myself.

Just please be careful posting on CL. I posted 5 roosters last year, and had 3 guys show up who I would NOT welcome back on my property again. I will not list roosters again. Never. No way. Na da. Uh uh.

First mistake...posting on CL. LOL Second mistake, letting people come to your home to get the birds. I did that exactly ONCE and will always make the trip to a public convenient place to swap birds in the future. I do NOT want anyone knowing I have chickens, how many and where they roost at night. As paranoid as that sounds, people are getting weirder and weirder and I don't want them coming back to take birds I don't intend to get rid of. Some of the worst predators are 2 legged.
