Hmmm...that's a lot closer than Saratoga....is there a link to a web site or other information about JP's ?

Try this:

http://www.jpsnorth.net/

i guess that is a sellers auction full grown silkies only went for 5-8 each in bridgeport but they weren't very good quailty. and tons of roosters
all the duck drakes went higher 8-13 there was a guy there buying all the waterfowl. no ducklings at all.

also perry's mom worked the snack bar. you can resist home made chili with bread for 2.00. it was good and well worth the heart burn later .

Just a noob question about these auctions and 'biosecurity'. What happens if your birds don't sell? Or does everything pretty much sell, even if it ends up being 'free'? I'd hate to bring my birds back home and have to quarantine them for a month, as I am sure there are birds at these things that aren't as well tended as BYC chickens.

Our first auction is this morning, DH is dropping the birds off and coming home. Kings mails you the money. If I end up having some that have to come home we have a pen set up for quarintine.

Ah, so you don't even have to stay? I wonder if it's the same for the saratoga auction. I'd prefer it that way, since that one is at 9PM, past my bedtime. LOL.

Don't you have to go back and get your cages? I know, noob questions - but good to know!

not sure about other auctions but in brideport. once they are in auction there are in. they always sell. they just keep lowing bid until someone buys. there were some roosters yesturday at end that here going for 10 to 15 cents. and yes the auctioneer was bidding between 2 people for 10-15 cents too funny i love to watch. that is half the fun of going to watch.

cages go along with ride. meaning free with birds. unless you mark no cage. but no cage or box items go cheaper. cardboard boxes are best. not sure about other places though.

Anyone have Lav Orpington chicks for sale?

I hatched out 4 yesterday, and because I didn't take my own advice, I lost 2 that I could have saved, oh well...

So, I don't want to hatch again, looking for chicks.

I happen to be going to Chittenango this morning around 11 am if anyone out that way has some....my phone is 315 829 3842 or 723-6383 (cell)

I use cardboard boxes... I think most people there do. The only things I've brought home (bought) were our first silkies, some supplies, cat food & the Fiona -- the cat.

I've sold a bunch of birds there.
