NY chicken lover!!!!

Need a good butcher for a few chickens. I live in central square. Anyone know a good person to butcher a few chickens for me? If so either pm me or just leave an answer. I ordered 24 chicks from Myers hatchery. They should be here September 24-26. Sooooo excited. We will not eat theses ones. They are for eggs/ breeding only. Anyone have good experience with them?

Tab NO and you shouldn’t be either. Did you call the doctor and tell them you are losing your plug? It may just be because this is number 3 and you are starting to prepare to dilate usually the more babies you have the earlier you dilate to about 2 cm and you end up staying for a while but I will agree with you aunt you are doing too much you need to rest and yes drink. You really want to keep that little girl in there for at least another month.

Tonight was last night of class for a few weeks before fall semester starts and I have to go back to work.
Hubby has surgery this Thursday so it will not be any vacation waiting on him.

Good morning, the tractor has been moved on greener longer grass the girls are happy!
Looks like I have 4 of 6 layers hopefully today makes five! It will be another month or 2 before my other three babies start laying.

A gun is definitely on my wish list. But for now I'll have more walks in the woods, take the dogs in the areas near the pen, and set up the electric. Maybe I could add a hot wire at the top of the chain link?? Any opinions on if that would be beneficial? To me and the chickies, not our invader.

So I put 42 eggs in bator yesterday now do I put 6 more in today to fill the egg turner or not? I don't think not being turned one extra day could hurt would it or maybe do lock down on day 19 for an extra day of turning on the 42 and be day 18 for the one I would put in today. whats everyones experience with this?

I had 36 I guess I miss counted. Sooooo I filled it today. And I found out I've been counting my days wrong been counting day 1 as the day I put them in not 24 hours from when I put them in so been doing lockdown day early already and removeing egg turner early.

I've got a dozen Marraduna Basque chicks happily growing by the minute. I had originally intended to share some of this flock with my sister and mother, but already know that I'm not parting with a single one of these babies for the time being (probably ever!).


So my predicament is this: I feel obligated to help the other two households in my family find some nice laying (or close to laying) hens. 4 to 6 total. I would appreciate any assistance in that area (and will happily pay for hens -- not looking for a handout!), should anyone be downsizing in the larger CNY area. Heritage breeds preferred, but all options considered.
