NY chicken lover!!!!

Ke, that sounds like a bad evening. Wonder where he came from? Could it have been a neighbor? But it's in the past now.

Luvmychickens = thanks for the info I always have some solar lights, I think though I will be needing a solar panel much cheaper than getting and electrician out there.

Ke5 = I hear yeah a lady found a puppy that clearly had skin problem and saw me walking my 3 dogs and ask if I would take it and I'm like no way don't need mange into house. Glad you were able to properly dispose of it.

I do have a neighbor about a mile north of me with chickens but I've never met them. Tonight may be the night too.
I have no need for someone else's sick birds, we try too hard to make sure ours don't get sick.

Is it possible that he was the one doing all the crowing around the neighborhood and causing all the trouble? Glad you were able to take care of it before he got to your property.

He wouldn't have caused any trouble in my neighborhood. We have 7 or 8 roosters now so nobody would have even noticed him. I'm going to stop on the way home and talk to the neighbors down the road and see if it was theirs.

TAB ugh I just hate it when my silkies hide eggs, we have two silkies that we put youngins in with until they are old enough for the big coop. So with two layers we'll find 4 or more eggs buried from time to time.

Ke5 I'm glad you will talk to your neighbor and see if that was their chicken. I know how you feel take no chances!

We'll this is done :) my son should have no issues now about letting the chickens out. It's just him and I so he acts like the man of the house and protects everything.

Hi there peeps! I am just joining (officially) and wanted to say hi! I wondered if there were other people with chickens in my area. I am on the Great Sacandaga Lake in the Adirondack Mountains. I have 18 chickens of various breeds. Once I figure out how to add them at the bottom I will! lol I have always relied on forums for great information on many many subjects & I look forward to being a part of this one! ..and yes, chickens ARE addictive! :-D

I'm seeing a few different listings for this on Premier, whats the difference between them all? Like for example, this one caught my eye..

I figured I start with the 82' double spike one for $103...Whats the difference between that one and this other one I'm seeing that is much more expensive for 100'

I noticed the numbers change from "12/48/3" to "12/42/3" What do these numbers mean?

Ok nevermind, I think I got the number thing figured out. So those who have these, would I be ok with the one I want to get - 82' for $103? it's 42" high...that should be good enough to hold my cheeps in right?

I have found, that 82 feet is not so big....but that is good for what you are looking for. First measure out an 82" circle where you want to put it and see if it is big enough for your needs. I always get the 48" high ones. If it is going to be used in the winter , ZI would advise getting the heavier one as well. I use both the lighter wight one and the heavier weight one. Love them both! Good luck!
