You have lots of ideas for cooking. I would never have even thought of jelly.

Venison Jerky is in the dehydrator right now- nothing tops fresh venison!

I like to cook over wood and I like to eat. We used wild grape jelly we made. I'm sure regular old store bought jelly would work fine. I just fork the pork

............rather than tenderizing it and marinate in the jelly, slightly watered down for 24 hours. Flipping and reforking at least once. Incredible on pork. Really really good for venison. For venison I add a little garlic and onion to the grape jelly .
Whenever I am butchering venison ultra fresh back straps get cooked up to celebrate

Yup- the back straps and tenderloins were finished off 2 days after my brother got it. It's funny, I've hunted for 4 years now, had may opportunities to shoot does and small bucks (spikes under 3 inches) , but have passed so many. The only one I did shoot was a big 3 pointer but never could recover it. My brother goes out opening day, sees one big doe and shoots it. Then it turned out to be the one doe I said I wanted to shoot this year. But, I have had a lot of opportunities this year to shoot other des and button bucks, but it's still early in the season and I love hunting so I don't have any problem with passing on deer and hoping to get a decent buck. It's not like we're hurting for meat so I have no pressure up to this point.

Woke up this morning to my Silkie roo crowing! Oh wait, but let me just say that by "this morning" I don't mean 6am or 5am, No, he was crowing at 2:19 in the morning!!! Which then of course prompted Gru to start crowing! What on earth would prompt them to do this!?! If this is going to be a nightly ritual he will most definitely get the boot!

Um so good. I need to learn to cook like that.

OMG I remember that. Wonda bull's girlfriend was the inspiration for Wonda on In Living Color played by Jame Fox (right?)!

Maybe he was startled and woke up?
