It was windy today and hard to take pictures, but here are a few...

I love their type, and the crispness of the colors.

What you said earlier about selling like hotcakes.... I can't hatch enough to keep up with silkie orders. I posted an ad on CL for eggs when I was hating my styro-bators. I got emails for chicks & started a waiting list 2 months ago! I sell eggs when I'm dead out of space in the sportsman. Now, I've fired up the 2 styros that I kept.

I really am amazed at how much people love them. Here are a couple photos of my last two. Not great as the picture made them several shad lighter than they are! they seem to be morphing almost to a slate-blue grey and dark grey/black....any thoughts?

Also - anyone have any thoughts as to what this babe might be? The coloring is more of a bluish gray than the photo shows again.

What a glorious NY day! The wind is a bit much but it is in the low to middle 50's here. I know I'm not supposed to but I went ahead and raked out some of my front garden - it's VERY VERY big. my daffodils and tulips are coming up and the roses are starting to wake along with the other perennials. HOPEFULLY, when I get a chance to rake the other area the hyacinth and everyone else are coming up. YAY

I was wondering if a Silkie and a Dellie mixed what the heck would it look like and what would you call it? A Delkie? a Silware, a Dilkiware?

(of course a ladder may need to be involved to make this work between the two breeds but I have a sick mind.....

)

OMG, I love a glass of wine! It really helps me write the funny things - which again I just literally thought up!

I also meant to mention - those are gorgeous birds.....where do you live and are they locked up???? Seriously, just kidding - anyone who steals someone's chickens needs to be thrashed and then drug down the road!

Absolutely gorgeous color and I love the sharp contrast on the feathering - that is one really nice roo as well.

eggsess precious (a little Tolkien humor there) Let's see I ebayed for all my eggs so the second batch of Silkie eggs came from an Elaine Hale out of Waldron, AR. The first batch came from TQ Farms. The larger of the Silkies came from there - the other that was one of the few hatchers came from Elaine in Waldron, AR. - it was like the second batch was just too large for there shells -we had one actually zip all the way out and then just not finish "plopping out of the shell". As for the Delware Giants the email I have for them is "imconclusive in Vineland, NJ - not sure that helps......

Love my babies though!

The bluer one with the almost caramel tan barring I believe came from Dan Prather (eggs) who specializes in Rare Blue Marans and all other types of Marans as the card he sent me says. I believe he is out of Michigan or Ohio.

I will have to check.....

Sounds great! When could we meet and where????? We have a trip to Ballston Spa for an interview for my daughter around 2:00 tomorrow or you and I could pick another day.....just let me know! I'm willing to pay an extra amount for a couple extra chicks too! (especially if you had any little evil Silkies or Wondrous Cohcins - Just joking! I can hardly wait to see the little beauties in person!.
