NY chicken lover!!!!

Well i opened up the coop then the run, everyone stayed in the run to at least eat n drink and lay eggs, otherwise they still stay in the coop. I threw some food outside and they went out to eat it. I did shovel a path for them bit as soon as they were done eating back on they went in. One tried to fly over the snow and landed in the unshoveled part lol she was a bit shocked so i picked her up out of the foot deep snow. Gotta love the cheeps and their antics. My zombie girl is great she pretty much cleaned her bloody mess up herself, i just made sure she had the space she needed and the some extra treats. putting her in that crate was like putting a cat in bath tub lol blood spattered everywhere but the dogs were right there to lick it up. Anywho she seems far happier outside.

I like This one " Wheres The Door ? "
Maybe they dont have that magic button on trucks ?
I dont think I have it on my honda either

So thats where you have been hiding ...in the snow ..

Just installed vent covers on the vents in the top of the gable ends. It was quite a cross ventilation gale up there. These will soften the breeze, I hope. It seemed more comfortable to me as it progressed, and I was up on a three foot step ladder, and much taller than the chickens to begin with. The final straw was that I had found some snowflakes on the poop boards below the roost bar on one end. The roof overhang was not keeping the snow out. I think the overhang and the vent cover should make it much better.

Yesterday three eggs, none today yet.

Gotta ski this evening! This will be the first weekend evening Toggenburg will be open this year.

Glass, How many hens do you have? We have ten and no eggs this week.

Ski...that sound good. My husband was on the National Ski Patrol and we did a lot of it.
We quit last year. We do miss it. And he did Not want to do cross country. Aria

Do you have pics? I've considered vents near the top part of my coop to draw off the humidity. I scraped up the floor of the coop and it was just chucks of poop. The only opening near the ceiling is one eave that is open and covered with hardware cloth.

I was thinking of putting a couple of those plastic vent covers in. front and back, up near the peak.

Any advice?

Here's my teeny tiny dark blue Silkie pullet. Hard to tell in the picture how big/small she is compared to the others buty lav hen didn't want to cooperate.

She is beautiful. And I love her size. I have a hard time taking photos. She looks
