NY chicken lover!!!!

Lynzi, I board my horse at their barn. I can get the food from them and when you make your runs into the Syracuse area you could pick it up from me if that is easier for you.

I need to get out to the store again on my day off this week and get more seed mix too. Running out of BOSS, and just about everything.
That would be awesome, I'd like to try a bag a or two out.

I have to say, I was watching my birds the other day and I really like the way they're looking. My Orps looks so nice and round and beautifully feathered now they've gotten in all their new feathers after their molt. My BR is looking really nice. When I got the two of them this summer, their feathers seemed so sun bleached and instead of them being black and white, they were more brown and white. Mine now looks so nice and dark black and bright white. She doesn't look as scraggly as when I got her.

For the future, you can get those cheap feather dusters from the dollar store. They think its their "Mama".

that's a good one.

CM has it cheapest. BOSS that is.

I called them the other day to make sure they have the feed I want. I'm sick of them not having it when I need it. The east syracuse store needs a new manager. Plus I don't see why we can't get a new store over here, like out in Cicero.

Yes, but as you said, Jeff is a real piece of work. I will no longer give them my business-- for anything, just because of him. He's a sexist, a drunk and he will over charge you any way he can. (as in ringing out the wrong products and then correcting the system later) As for the new store CM only remodels the stores on a 10 year cycle and the store by us still has I believe 3-4 years on its current model.

Which variety do you want? I assume layer but 15% or the 19%

The way to a friends house is never long.  Where in Upstate are you?

I'm way over by the VT border. The closest bigger city to me is Glens Falls, but that's still 40 minutes away. Featherz is the closest one to me besides Metella I think, and Metella is in Vermont. Syracuse is roughly 3 and a half hours from me.

OMG!! So jealous! Now I REALLY can't wait for mine to pick up laying again.

I was happy that the first one hatched. I was ecstatic when the second one hatched today. The first one looks a little more blue. I'll have dig around under mom and get a pic of the 2 together. I think I set 15 or 16 eggs this time and got 10 to hatch. Not bad considering the last couple hatches. I've already cleaned the incubator and am setting Barnevelder eggs tonight.
GREAT. You know we have Silkies only and we love them. Hopefully we will be able to purchase Hens in the Spring. Lynzi gave us a beautiful Splash rooster. If you have Silkie Hens you want to sell....please keep us in mind. Aria

If I ever get more than 1 or 2 to hatch :-\ The cochins were much easier to hatch.

I think I found some friends for my little lonely girl! A man about 20 minutes from me has week old EE chicks. I think I'll get 5 or 6. So yay, one crisis solved as long as I can keep this little one happy until Friday.
