NY chicken lover!!!!

Sorry, I just have to laugh. I understand where you're coming from though. I've known so many people who have gotten the flu shot after debating whether or not to get it, they had never been sick a day in their life, they get the flu shot and then get sick. Me? I'm one of those people. I've never been sick. Nothing more than a headache (or hangover) ;-) I would never get the flu shot because if I got sick I'd be soooooo PO'ed!!!! Lol

No offense taken. You should know that by now.

Yes he will! He will love her ability to gather up all the cobwebs from his coop! Lol

Well another thing about Mareks, since you mention cobwebs is the dander from the feathers chickens breath can spread it. So it might not be to far fetched to dust up the place. I am concerned. I've electricity and may need to get a small vac to clean them up.

Another reason I don't want silkies is I don't intend to give them baths. Good garden o' peas I rarely take one my self.

That and they fall of the clothes line when I hang them out.

DW said what's the clunking sound coming from the back yard? Frozen silkies that's what!

I DO wish I had a better set up for silkies. Something like the inside of a barn that was cleaner. Their feet feathering gets so gross if not tended to on the regular.

One reason i tried to talk my son out of silkies and point him into just about any other bantam breed but nope silkies is what he wants. At least i got him away from the white ones.

Yea I'm not a fan of the whites, just because they can throw any funky color when bred to anything but another white. This spring/summer I want to build a new coop for them with a run large enough to let them out to free range. Think I'll buy another round of that poultry netting for their "run"

With my swamp yard i don't know what I'm going to do. I think I'm going to build up about 2 feet and fill with sand. Just do planted plants and only let out of area if it's dry.

IK it's off topic, but I've never had a flu shot either. I'm happy to get the flu. Had it about 2 months ago and it only lasted 1 day, no medications. My folks never had the flu shot, child never had the flu shot. Grandmother when she was alive got one every year and suffered horribly for weeks afterwards. Flu shots are the fastest growing problem vaccine, the info is at nvic.org they follow the vaccine injuries. People don't realize that this past year when they get the flu shot it isn't a single entity vaccine, I think now it's 4 vaccines in 1 syringe. Remember when they couldn't get the health care providers to take that bird flu vaccine? They put that leftover crap into the next group of flu shots.
