NY chicken lover!!!!

Pyxis--get better soon.  Its no fun having that.  A fellow Trekie huh?  Which series/movie?  I have seen them all.  Started with the original series.

I'm watching the original series. Started it a few days ago from the beginning and I'm on episode 26 now. Well, I have class in five hours so off to bed with me. After one more episode :P

Good morning. I have icy places too. Didn't shovel my paths when it was so cold because the snow was so fine and blowing and drifting, then I figured it would melt...well now it is ice and styrofoam so I'm trying to be careful, not my usual way. Hope you didn't get hurt Lynzi. I bet the chickens were happy to be closed in with those bad things howling around.

Gramma, I had a hen in an apron that had parts that had wing covers, I got it from someone on the BYC site, Louise. ...can't remember the business name. It used elastic, and part went out over her wings and was a little padded. Earl has huge spurs now, it could be a painful spring.

With all this talk about homes my toilet died and started leaking everywhere, so I went out with my gift cards and bought a Kohler not the cheapest one but a decently priced one. The guy installs it tomorrow. This means my bathroom remodel starts now UGH gotta order new flooring. and pick paint colors.

Good night all!

Haha, last year we needed to replace the upstairs half-bath faucet, because water flow was nearly non-exsitent. Someone had crushed the cap so couldn't just clean the screen. So thinking, well might as well replace the vanity and sink too. And well mom had leftover vinyl from a project, so new floor. Wallpaper was stripped and 2 new paint colors with a border. New mirror and a decent cabinet. Have a new light for over the mirror that still needs switching out, but that will be a bigger task because of improper box installation. And have the new wood trim for the floor, but need to get better at mittering corners. Toilet was fairly new so that was reinstslled. It's only a 5'x5' room, looks great too. But it all started with a faucet...

Morning all. Got about 3 inches yesterday so all paths and runs have been shoveled. Put the big heavy rubber bowl in the terrorist coop so they could have water. Its elevated so they cant tip it over. They are drinking a lot. Twiggy ran outside this morning when dh opened the people door. She is still the outsider and I suspect kept from the feeder. I brought her in to the cellar this morning and let her eat there. Her weight wasnt great but not bad either. At least her crop was nice and full when I put her back out into the run. Thelma and Louise had to come out and supervise dh as he was shoveling. They are a nosy couple. Eowyn is sitting on nothing, a very determined broody silkie. At least she doesnt peck me when I check under her. Her daughter, on the other hand, tries to remove body parts when you reach under her.

Today is going to be a beautiful day. You might say its the calm before the storm. This means its going to be insane at work today. Dont go near a grocery store! Snowmageddon is coming and everyone will be getting milk, bread and eggs because they may be stuck inside for a day.

Have a good day everyone!

Quote: I see we replace faucets the same way. Our shower faucet went bad so we decided to do the same thing... ended up gutting the room because some of the wall board was bad. Still working on it... years later. LOL...

Fredo and Chicken Nugget. We tired them out so much, they fell asleep. They are darling! It's 6 weeks and so far no dandruff or anything, they stay right in the kitchen and can watch TV from their area.

JLaw, nice egg!

Yummy!

Lynzi, you mentioned you grew up in CT? I'm happy the house situation worked out good for you! First hubby and I were there in 89-91, lived in Stratford, worked in Greenwich. It was very expensive living. Even with the recession of '90 was too hard to buy a house. We were close to Bridgeport, it was not a very good neighborhood. Parts of Central and Western NY areas are much less expensive.

Rancher, you are correct to be worried about tax. This country is BROKE! The government will do anything for $, even try to get blood from a stone. IRS will definitely kick ya when you're down! For sure. Good advice, speak with legal aid, or get info from a law library. The law librarians are usually very knowledgeable. Free legal advice is good!

Miquwid, BEAUTIFUL B.O. CHICKEN! That is such a pretty bird! Love it! Nice video.

Good afternoon!

Rancher
Wait did i hear that correctly you bringing up silkie eggs?
That is a funny valentines story. I just wait for my homemade school valentine from my son.

Gramma
I hope your little hen is okay. That was cute she fell behind the box.

Why
I hear the orps are a nice bird, slow growth though lol. So far she seems nice thanks. Thats my sons bird.

Why do birds - those are lovely birds .... since they may be house birds forever ... you may want to get them diapers - I think Bakin has made them for a Goose to go into old age homes before ....

:) You can then play with the patterns

Thanks! Will look into it! Chicken diapers would be a great idea! As soon as they see us, they come running over and want to be picked up! They are very tame. It would give them more freedom and we probably wouldn't have to wash their feet as much.

Bakin - but you are a good guest ! I can go '''' shhhhhhh and you shush up ... or I can have us walk outside or inside. Or I can go off and leave you to attend to whatever .... but city folk .... darned if they don't want EYE contact the whole time. :barnie Rancher - you didn't throw me a kiss - but this one's for you ..... :love
Tehee well thanks ;)
Thanks here is a video of my girl my son took while I was at work. I'm guessing she is 6months old maybe 7. I hope you feel better! I need to set some eggs to myself. I put my babies out with the adults and my roo is doing a great job at keeping the piece. The main rooster of the babies is much braver and ventures out much more than the others. We left them a small crate that only they can fit in so if need be they can hide in there. I love Star Trek by the way! I hope your okay. Um yeah I hear ya, they have to get their dogs nails cut or cat groomed during a blizzard and of course complain about the weather. LOVE it!!!! Good luck with your bathroom remodel :) we did ours last summerish gutted it down to studs pretty much, all the floor and ceiling lol the toilet it the only thing we didn't replace, we did take it out and power spray it while hubby layed the new floor, I love it now but it was pretty hard not having a working full bathroom for that long, a lot of trips to friends and my dads lol (couldn't use shower for almost 2 months)
Well now it is nearing Valentines day so I accept just don't tell DW. Two funny stories along that vein. My son in law is from England as are his parents. They do not send Valentines to just anyone. Only their secret lovers. It just so happened that I sent one to him and his parents. (yes I know it's the wife's duty some would say but not here. DW is to busy so the duty falls to me). He asked my daughter who he was dating at the time whether or not he should be offended. When his parents came for the engagement party and we finally met we all had a good laugh. Now my GD is three and just getting to know things and she explained Valentines day as, You tell some one you love them and They give you candy. So she comes up to her gramma and tells her "I love you" now you have to give me candy. :lau
My best friend is English and was very perplexed about kids sending valentines to everyone in their class lol, and GD sounds like my little girl lol

Just one more, famous last words in my house when we are really into a show :gig
