NY chicken lover!!!!

Google a recipe and make some.

If you don't have yeast you could do a Sour dough. I'm sure baking soda and vinegar will give you a rise. Well not you but your bread.
Well I guess it all depends on what someone is into right? Internet is full of a lot of things, so I here.

Meh don't really care enough...I don't eat a lot of bread. Plus I could go out and get some if I really needed some.
However, I do like this suggestion of making sour dough. I've always wanted to try it...

Rancher you said something about sex links with your Delawares and needing a big rooster. I have been thinking about getting a Delaware, Light Sussex or a Salmon Faverolle so that I can hatch some sex links out with my Speckled Sussex. This info was from that post about crosses, Didn't know if you knew all your options?

I've never cared for it, but it's one of those things where you keep a starter in your fridge to make it as you need it.

More snow is coming.

My wanted a big NH rooster is to hatch sex links but hopefully increase the size of my rooster since all male chicks will have the Del pattern. I've not done it but many folks don't buy chicks if there is a chance of males.

Of course a RIR/NY rooster over a Del/ Sussex will yield sex links. Both are good layers. I love my Sussex hen and bet she'd produce more good layers like her.

Now I think that I'm going to have to make some bread. All the talk about home made bread has got me wanting some. I love to make home made bread, but I may just break out the bread maker and do some with that today. Have to make some pizza dough for tomorrow anyway.

Snow stopped for a little while this morning but has picked up again. I don't mind to much, just shoveled a path to the chicken run and shoveled some of the run for them. The snow was covering the duck hut. If you didn't hear the boys you wouldn't even know it was there. The weather man was a little off with the snow totals. We are at about 15 inches right now and still growing. I don't have to go anywhere till this afternoon to go pick up some meds that the doctor finally called in. I've only been after them for a week. I just worry about DH. He had a run this morning and left at 3:30 am. He said that our road wasn't plowed. He had to go out to just south of Rochester to pick up a load of pasta from Barilla Pasta! I'm not worried to much about there it is when he gets back to the warehouse in Liverpool and starts coming home. Then he can plow the driveways when he gets home.

By the way

I have Delwares of course, Birchen Marans, EE's, one Aruacana roo, one RIR hen, 3 Columbian rock hen with eggs coming next month, 5 Barred Rock hens, 1 Sussex hen, and three frizzle hens.

I keep the Aruacana roo and an EE roos for colored eggs. Breed doesn't matter to me so much as I get colored eggs of various shades.

My Dels are only with a Del roo and two frizzle hens which don't lay but I love them just the same. I have two coops of Birchens each with a Birchen roo. I add a couple of EE hens to those coops cuz I'll get olive egger hens. The EE's and that are together too. EE eggs of course can be seen anything else in there won't get hatched.
