That's great. I'm sure you are relieved to know they won't be dinner to some scumbag from the city.

Morning Everyone,
Heading out to Cortland TS to meet someone who wants a bunny. Contemplating taking a look inside to see what they have but I do not need another chick or duckling so I think I better stay out. I should pick up another bag of feed while I'm there though so we'll see. I'll have to leave my debit card home and just stick to bringing enough cash for feed.

Before I forget. Storey's book on Khaki Campbells doesn't say what color they lay but does say they lay 340 per year. Give or take that not to bad.

So we were in Marshalls and DW was looking at Easter Dish towels and stuff she wanted and of course I said she could have them. It was then that I told her I got ducks.

She took it rather well.

I know quite a few people here have added geese this year or are thinking about adding them, but I just saw some absolutely beautiful swans on FB for sale! Now there's a bird I would love to have someday! Only if I had a large pond that I could view them floating across every day. Forgot how stunning those birds looked!

LOL! You let her get dish towels in exchange for your getting ducks??? Too Funny!!! So what is her response to actually seeing the ducks???

That would definitely add insult to injury. Hope you dodge the bullet, Rancher!

The latest forecast has the cold lasting thru Wednesday. Grrrrrrrrrrrr!

At the TSC in Auburn last week, some local guy brought in some of his pullets that he's bred / raised out of his own birds. He likes to experiment with different crosses. He had some real pretty, unique looking birds with nice colors and patterns. Even a cross between a naked neck and a frizzle. I was surprised to see chickens for sale there that early. There were also bunnies (a colossal one!) and a kid goat (very cute and very loud).

Wish I could say spring was truly in the air, but ....

Resist, resist....turn your eyes away! LOL! I also picked up more layer crumble today in Tully. I can't believe how much feed my birds are plowing through. Sheesh.

TOB

Tomorrow is lock down. Chicks due to hatch Thursday. I hope for at least 50% of 30. I candled and they look good. Well I didn't candle the Marans eggs cuz they're to dark. Thank the Lord for that.

I've had just about enough of this cold weather. I hate to complain but my joints have been hurting pretty darn bad for all the drugs I take. I swear there is more false advertising of pain meds than anything.

My girls are laying good but they're also eating tons of feed.

Well I did it I wasn't wanting to but I did. I bought animals from TSC. I was weak and I bought some KC's. I was going to order eggs and hatch out at easter time because I wanted runners but I decided I wanted some now not later. So we now have 7 ducklings in the house and man they are so much softer than chicks. I'm going to have to make a pool for they're brooder though.
Well off to get them set up I just cleaned out a brooder and was letting it air dry some.
