NY chicken lover!!!!

I am not feeling good. I hope I'm not getting sick. I can not afford to get sick. I have to much to do to be sick. I am not a good patient when I'm sick. I hate being sick. If I get sick it will not be pretty around here. On top of the crappy cold to be sick is not fair. There is no sun and that makes me sick too.

These duckling drink a lot of water.

Now that was just about as random a series of thoughts I have seen in a long time.

I would say maybe but these tracks go UNDER my shed - which isn't a lot of space at all, under my porch and lead to the holes in the ground in my front yard.

Maybe red squirrel tracks. Red squirrels are much smaller than the gray squirrels are, and they are bold, sassy and very active. Do you have pine trees near your home? Then you might have red squirrels. If not red squirrel tracks, I'm not sure, since you think they're too small to be a bunny.

That would definitely add insult to injury. Hope you dodge the bullet, Rancher!

The latest forecast has the cold lasting thru Wednesday. Grrrrrrrrrrrr!

Just went by the TSC in Saratoga - they had two little 'random' pullet chicks huddled up all by themselves in one bin. Tried to convince a guy buying red pullets to get those, hopefully he did. :) Some straight run 'black giants' and really cute ducks. Thankfully, I managed to abstain. :)

At the TSC in Auburn last week, some local guy brought in some of his pullets that he's bred / raised out of his own birds. He likes to experiment with different crosses. He had some real pretty, unique looking birds with nice colors and patterns. Even a cross between a naked neck and a frizzle. I was surprised to see chickens for sale there that early. There were also bunnies (a colossal one!) and a kid goat (very cute and very loud).

Wish I could say spring was truly in the air, but ....

Morning Everyone,
Heading out to Cortland TS to meet someone who wants a bunny. Contemplating taking a look inside to see what they have but I do not need another chick or duckling so I think I better stay out. I should pick up another bag of feed while I'm there though so we'll see. I'll have to leave my debit card home and just stick to bringing enough cash for feed.

Resist, resist....turn your eyes away! LOL! I also picked up more layer crumble today in Tully. I can't believe how much feed my birds are plowing through. Sheesh.

This IS what mine look like but a tad smaller. We do have red squirrels across the street in my neighbors huge pine trees that line their driveway but I've never seen any venture over into out yard. We have no trees in our yard other than the woods so they'd be out in the open if they ever ventured this way. Plus I don't see a squirrel of any type coming under my side porch...so maybe a chipmunk?? Idk, guess I'll have to keep my eyes peeled.

I'm back...and lucky for me my daughter fell asleep in the car so I didn't go in to TS. Its rare that she naps so when she does I let her sleep cuz she needs it! The woman I sold the rabbit to did go into the store and said they had ducks so I'm assuming they haven't gotten anything new in yet after the first person reported them having KC ducklings was it??

They had the ducklings Wednesday, Luv reported the chicks in Thursday. The store is in disarray right now, they are replacing all the floor one section at a time due to the August floods. Im working on cleaning and arranging to set up the brooder, then bring home some TSC chicks now. Then later get some nicer chicks from Chickenstock.
Glass -- I see Deb posted buff Orp hatching eggs on CL this week, with EE also available.
