NY chicken lover!!!!

Sorry for your loss Hen, hope the others pull through and no cooties are brought in by the dumped birds.
Pulled a couple bantams out tonight so little girl could pet them and I could share pics.
First up, some exotic looking bantam, haven't seen any chicks like it yet online.
Cute Chicks ...Let us know how this one turns out ...

Does the weather man not know I have things to do? It will take me days to do what needs doing before I leave. It may be spring but apparently Mother Nature doesn't know it.

I'M SICK OF IT, DO YOU HEAR ME? SICK, SICK , SICK!
Rancher I agree I am SICK OF IT TOO!!!!!!!!!!

I so want summer to be here am taking the summer off no school, No work, just playing with my chickens and my gardens.

I still have no grass in sight just snow snow and snow it won't start melting enough around here until the end of April . My freeloaders will not go out in the snow to save their lives trust me I have shoveled, I have put their food outside the coop I have put a path of food leading outside I have tossed them outside and they will not be outside even when I tossed them out they were like boomerangs coming right back in. I am at least getting 1 egg a day from the freeloaders it is so pitiful I bought eggs the other day when I got groceries. Oh well they get until the grass is showing and if they don't pick up they will be taking to freezer camp.

Woke up this morning to crowing, Earl finally woke up before me in the basement sick bay. It was not unpleasant. My husband had a bike workout on his trainer in the basement, and remarked that they were kind of cute down there. So we may be progressing. He has really come a long way from his upbringing!

Hi all! I am new to this site, as well as to chickens. I have made the chicken coop, now I can't find the chicks! Does anyone know where I can get chicks in the Long Island area ASAP. I've called a few places and they all say May. I would like to get my chicks started under the lamp so they can go out in 6 weeks. If no places in LI, is there a website that will deliver relatively soon? Thank you!
Ron

you can also try Meyer they have smaller orders

One of my coworkers sent this to me this morning. It is an illness....

Well I must be building a resistance cuz I've been getting rid of chickens and maybe these ducklings. I wake up and I'm feeling the urge to get rid of them all.

Only thing is folks don't want me too. At least the ones that buy the eggs. Of course if feed prices stay the same and prices go up, we all may make a profit. Even a dime would make me happy.
