Soooooo.....anybody want a kitten? We've adopted two feral cats, and recently had another feral female adopt us, much to our opposition. But how can I say no to giving her food when she sits outside our glass doors, staring in, day after day.

Anyways, we hadn't had a chance to have her spayed through Reigning Cats and Dogs, before she ended up pregnant, and she's had her litter, maybe two weeks ago or so. We found the three of them in our rundown garage this evening. Anybody local want one? We're at our max cat limit!

We're in Benton (Fingerlakes, just north of Keuka) and yes, the black one is solid black, and I *think* a male. I didn't get a good look at the "parts" of any of the others. I'll take a peek tomorrow when I check up on them. Assuming she doesn't move them, now that we've disturbed her.

Will do! Too bad they won't be ready in time for Chickenstock...somebody could take them along.

Normally, the feral cats that are born around here just run around and stay away from humans. But these won't be like that, because they'll follow her and she's quite friendly. Even lets me pick her up.

Got the chicklets outside today. Wasn't sure if it would be warm enough but...before I put a sunscreen on top, they were all huddling under the shady area so, I figure they must have been warm enough. Love this Superyard...we bought this when we had human babies, lol, and have used it in so many ways since then...usually with animal babies of one sort or another. Have to be careful with the little silkie chicks, though, because the smallest one can squeeze through the holes, if she really wants to.

I have one of them I use it for chicks, turkeys and ducklings on nice days too plus I have used it for my bunnies too

Frenchy is a mom again. 6 yrs old and still kicking. She has four more eggs and I'll let her go another day or two and then pull any unhatched eggs. This one is a B. Marans. She has some EE's and Del eggs in there. Do we have a Senior Chicken thread?

Morning all. Cooler today and I am loving that. Brats were pounding on the doors to get out this morning. They are a rambunctious lot! Boys, of course, just want to get out and spar. I swear all these boys are going to have me totally grey before they reach processing age! Hoping to let the two juvenile groups mix soon. They have been seeing each other in the coop but not integrated yet. The younger group have numbers on their side. Time to up their feed to higher protein. They are growing so fast. The terrorists have been stalking the run from time to time looking at the juvies. I think they are checking out their replacements. Bill certainly is. I keep telling the boys they are all on a show called Survivor and there can be only one (actually 2 this year). I am liking the way my reds are looking growing out. Of course, I wont really know what I have till they are much older and have their grownup feathers and such.

My silkie babies downstairs are enjoying the nice big brooder to themselves. The four of them are living large and loving it. My broody mommas are still sitting tight on those eggs. One of them will be making the trip north so Eowyn will be handling all the egg duties come saturday. She is a great mom and I am not worried.

I think she was laying before she went broody. I can't be sure but she's the only one who lays the small eggs. She's in with all the Delaware. They don't seem to mind her and Buckwheat her daughter. The rooster doesn't pester her either. Delawares are pretty easy going.

Grandma, Thanks. We have 6 eggs in the tiny B incubator and yesterday one buff and one blue hatched. We are leaving the other eggs in for a couple of more days. Maybe?
More chicks? But we have 7 new ones and we are happy. Regards, Aria
