NY chicken lover!!!!

The coop looks to me like there is chicken wire on all four sides .
Of Course hardware cloth is safer
I just thought it was cute for a recycled / first coop .
I was most concerned with something digging under it ...I was hoping they lived in a area with no Predators ..
DONT WE ALL WISH THAT WE DID ! LOL
With all due respect,

, there is no place without predators. If you build it, they will come.

Can anyone suggest a place to get bulk feed and possibly pine shavings or straw in oswego, cayuga or onandaga counties? I know I've asked about feed, but any responses were buried.

Mypetchicken responded to my email 5 days after I sent it, despite claiming to respond within 2 days to all of them. They have offered me 3 free chicks, but didn't offer a refund. The $9-10 saving isn't worth the fact I'd have to spend $40 in shipping plus buy their 3 bird minimum, and risk the post office shipping my birds slower than molasses.

My DD had to go to the doctors today and since she would be driving by Lees Feed store I had her stop to get some shavings for me. I've a coop I needed to clean badly.

Imagine my surprise when I found this. What gets me too, is that who ever put it in my DD's car put it so the damaged part was on the bottom. My DD didn't see it when it got put in. Too, they charge $7 ? I'm not sure what is on the paper but it looks like grease or oil. I did call and the woman who I think is the new owner said to "just bring it back". I said I live in Manlius! For me to drive back to Lees will take a gallon of gas. I was going to just dump it in the run, but after a good inspection don't think that is a good idea since I don't know what chemical is on the bag.

Lees has just changed hands so if you go there you might want to rethink it. 'Sides CM has shavings on sale tomorrow. I should have waited I know but the coops are really dirty.

Just tell them "No thank you, refund all the money I gave you"

do you havea Country Max nearby? They have shavings on sale tomorrow and Sunday for $4.90 a bale. They usually have the sale two or three times a year and I wait for it and stock up.

As for Mypet. Why should you have to spend $40 for shipping? If they're replacing your original order, they should pay for the shipping. Ordering just a few chicks is much more risky than ordering 25.

Oh this is aweful. Did this go on a credit card? We use Discover Card and if you call them and file a complaint they will do a charge back to the business and credit you. You could show them this photo. You can show the photo to the merchant first and request a full refund, so they avoid the chargeback. I'd be happy to help you clean your coop, if you live nearby. I'm over by Utica. I clean out the chicken coop about every 5 days or so, it stays good for a while because it's only the 3 little bantams. I'm getting good at coop cleaning. :) They keep their nesting boxes immaculate, make it easy for me.
