@Luv thanks.  Troyers is right up the road from me. I go there all the time for their cold cuts, bacon and soup mix...and still eggs until mine start giving me my own!

I have silkies, EE, and a rhodebar roo right now. About 20...

Orpingtons, silkies, Belgian Quail D'Anver, Speckled hamburgs (All air cells detatched) and Creme Crested Legbars & barnyard mix in the incubator.

I am interested in speckled hamburgs, blue egg layers and some others that would compliment the birds I have going.  I love Swedish Flower hens and Black swedish Flower hens, Svart Hona and Polish.

Luv...What do you raise?

Marquisella is in Vernon, she has Lav Orps, Marans, silkies, will have CC Legbars and can't remember what the new speckled crested breed was she got. Tough Old Bird has one of them.
Tab is in Westmoreland, they have several project birds. Naked neck frizzle olive Egger is one of them.
Cydney is in Lafayette/Tully area, has partridge Wyandottes, Rhodebars, Red Orps.
Debbie in Pompey (not a member here) has buff Orp, EE, partridge rock, Welsummer. I'm getting some eggs from her to set for Valentines Hatch Along.
KE5HD has Cochins in LaFayette.
That's all I can think of being close to you, but I'm sure there is more!

Still haven't heard back from Tab on the chickenstock so sent her a text this morning. If I end up doing it what does everyone think about May 30th? That way rancher should be back to go and it won't hopefully be too cold or too hot yet..

Been extremely busy starting the new business but love it and of course school starts back tomorrow so will have lots of new eager minds to teach.

We will have the first shipment of Poulin grains feeds in stock within 2 weeks and we are also officially carrying Blueseal feeds. Husband is working on some slab wood shelves I want it to look like an old time general store so am trying to go rustic. Working with Agway on possibly carrying their line of feed but I am happy with Poulin so will see.

Putting in orders of chicks now is their anything anyone wants? Shoot me a message and let me know. The Amish have preordered over 1500 chicks from me and I have worked out a deal with some of them to keep them under heat lamps here. I love my Amish neighbors they are all so friendly and helpful.

Debating on whether to start the bators going I keep seeing everyone talk about it makes me want to start will see how long I can hold off. Actually would love some new Orpington lines in with mine so does anyone have any eggs for hatching?

Ok will let everyone know if I hear from Tab today time to get off here and make some dog treats.

May 30th would be fine with me - I just have to know about 1 month in advance for scheduling purposes. What does everyone usually make/bring/donate?

Nutty...what kind of chickens do you hatch/sell?

Handmade items, chicken themed items and wine are popular for the raffle table. Same with purebred hatching eggs. Last year I won a beautiful wood cutting board and a wine basket. I donated a bag of cracked corn. For lunch, it is all dish to pass. Usually those that drive farthest being the paper goods or non-refrigerated items. JLaw brought juice, because that is where he works. I brought ketchup, mustard, relish, pickles, salad dressings, fruit dip and a side dish of some sort. Others brought the hamburgs, hot dogs, salad, fruit, veggie trays, crockpot items. Whatever you like. It all pulls together into a wonderful meal.
I already have picked up a few chicken items as I find them at sales. Hubby is also really good at spotting stuff and brings it home :)
