NY chicken lover!!!!

Hi I'm in WNY. chautauqua county...not many chicken sellers around that I have found. I started last year with RiR, bR, and my roo light brahma. I acquired 2silkies, 3cream leg bars and 5 ISA brown chicks. I've never heard of the Isa brown but they were a gift my daughter received... I'm hoping to add Orpington and Wyandotte.

Gosh darn ravens are stealing my eggs again :barnie Well, time to try the trick that stops hens from eating eggs on them. Tomorrow they will find a bunch of nice, unguarded eggs...filled with dish soap.

Lap, those bio security measures sound intrusive for you all, hard to get stuff done efficiently. But thanks for doing them!

Thankfully we don't have any large chicken facilities that our agency deals with in Cortland or Tompkins counties. But if Influenza becomes a reality locally, I'll start following the protocol because I wouldn't want to bring it home to my flock or spread it to another persons home flock.

Has anyone heard from JLaw lately? I was thinking about some of the "regulars" that have haven't been on in a long time...

JLaw and his juice at Chickenstock. Cass was always the name tag or ticket lady. @Henicillin. @JLaw @Cass

I have never heard of filling them with dish soap! Love this ideA. Do the Ravens go in your coop to get them?

Joanns has metallic plastic spinners for $2 each. Small but might work. I bought one and hung it on a clothes pole.
