NY chicken lover!!!!

, males should show red early. Please don't take me as snarky. We are friends by way of chickens. You'd be surprised folks don't know you don't need a rooster.
not taking you for snark at all. I need all the outside advice I can get. I am a newbie to raising animals. And yes I was guilty not all that long ago of thinking I needed a roo for eggs. Thanks to BYC I have learned a ton. Plus you only being an hour or so from me you are a good source of info. For sure "chicken friends" I need someone to enjoy my addiction with, lol.

Rhubarb grows like a weed here. I don't do anything to it but pick it. The bed was here when we moved here, well established, could be many yrs old.

I have a million bazillion handsome roosters aging into randiness around here. What kind are you looking for?

@Tab...ambitious strawberry picking! My chickens love strawberries. They get all the funny shaped ones.
I am looking for one that will be gentle with the girls but ugly as a snake to outside threats. He also has to be a good match for at least one set of the girls. I want edible and good layer line.

We have a u pick strawberry place here, didn't make this yr, raining everytime we had a chance to go. First time we went there with the kids they said they needed to weigh them. Huh? Yeah then we weigh them on the way out and charge accordingly....Just kidding! Lol!
They have probably fifty acres or more of strawberries.

SandHill white jersey giant chicks will be here tomorrow morning, I can't wait. Not getting the langshans though, refund on them :-(
I only ordered 10, their max on them but they're sending 12. I asked the wife if they said what they're filling the box up with, she said only the 12. I bet I get 'packing peanuts' SandHill only ships lots of 25. This could be interesting, they have some strange breeds. Guess I'll find out in the morning....

Ok so the girls love banana anything. I have some banana bread ready ones but when I tried peeling them the just mushed. Can they eat the peel or not a good idea?

They can have the peel but probably won't eat it. Mine love bananas but don't eat the peel. I think I read that your girls are 13 and 9 weeks old? At that point you should be able to tell gender. If you want to post pictures of them we could tell you if you have a rooster :)

Mine love the peels too...

And the storms roll in...
