NY chicken lover!!!!

I'm looking for a few hatching eggs for my broody hen. I live about fifteen minutes north of Cooperstown. I just don't have the time to drive a long way at the moment, so I was hoping to find someone fairly close. This hen likes to raise chicks so I'd like her to have a couple of eggs to hatch. I don't have a rooster at the moment and might be interested in one too. Thanks in advance.
We're within an hour of Cooperstown. I'll send you a PM.

Thanks to everyone who has responded about the eggs. I have found some and possibly a rooster too. I'll be catching up with her soon hopefully. I'm happy I finally found the New York thread!

I keep reading about CS happening in September but not a when or where . I'm in Broome Co and would love to go if it's not too far from me. I don't have anyone up for adoption or anything to donate but time or maybe a salad of some sort. Sadly my garden is not doing so great and my chickens haven't even laid me one egg yet. I do have a good amount of ambition to help out and learn more about these feathered monsters from all of you seasoned chicken people. Please when there are details let me know when and where.

Picked up my American Buff goslings! After a quick attempt at sexing, I think both are females, which means I still need a gander. They are gorgeous. I actually ended up picking them up from the head of the VT Bird Fanciers Club, and they are spectacular and will grow up to be good show birds, if I decide to show them. They're about eight weeks old and already 2/3 Lacie's size. She seems to be mildly interested in them so far. They are also very scared and not doing much yet. They were taken from their mother today and are fairly skittish. I'll win them over by spoiling them rotten with treats.

I vaguely remember meeting "everyone" that I met that day... lol, I am not trying to be rude. I love all of my BYC friends and acquaintances, it's just hard to put faces to names, and whom belongs to whom. And I chalk some of the forgetfulness to me being nervous, excited and a bit overwhelmed... I got a lot of chicken info (maybe overload), went to pick up one chick... came home with four... I brought my whole family then my husband got called to go back to work. My eldest daughter, Kaitie stayed with me and drove me home. I remember more clearly Metella & Pyxis only because I spent hours with them... :) I do hope to get to know everyone better. GramaChick: we met I think I purchased plants from you, Comfrey was one... I was the woman with the little semi-blind cocker spaniel. this is me... as you can see I hate pics... they always come out like mug shots and Ridley
I remember you and Ridley, you bought some plants from me, how are your elderberries doing? Mine are growing like weeds lol

Question for beekeepers...is this normal for raw honey?

I bought them at chicken stock but hadn't opened them yet. Found them leaking in my pantry with the top blown upwards like it was fermenting. I spooned out almost a whole bowl full of honey before replacing the lids. Tastes fine. Not exposed to heat.

One Elderberry didn't make it through transplantation... I'll have to get another if you are willing next spring.

The other one took the transplant fine... and is recovering from an incident my husband had with a weed whacker.

I am looking forward to the next one... yay!!! be it September or next spring.

Never mind! I got my answer and it's all good! So is the honey, by the way! Will be getting more in the spring. Seems mine just needed more room.
