My new cockerel, Little Jerry Seinfeld, from @Susieq2015. He's being quarantined right now, but he is happy and healthy. He loves being held and will nestle his head into my elbow or hair to cuddle. He'll let me hold him for hours in front of the TV (if DH would let him - I usually get 20 minutes). Anyway, LJ is adorable. Fingers crossed he stays this sweet

now he is just precious . What is he do you know? As long as you keep handling him constantly he will stay very tame. My Roo's are sweet but not hand birds. They aren't flighty they were just not handled a lot when young.

I find most of mine are skittish while inside in the brooder, but once they get outside in the big world suddenly I'm their best friend and they cling to and try to follow me. Same with the kids too. Probably because we are then the most familiar thing to them.

duh should have know. Silly me. I think the next coop I start, after the meat birds of course, will be colored eggs. Maybe my Merans, some EE and olive Eggers. Maybe I will make olive my project. Well crud!! Off to research what breeds I need for olive. Have fun everyone.

Woohoo, I'm getting marans in May, all I will need to go with them is some blue layers. Yay.

Oh crud!!! Chickens are addictive.

All the things I disliked about high school are such a big part of farming. Math , science, drafting, shop class. I thought the teachers were full of it when they said I would need it.

Ooh you will love the Marans, I just have 2 but they are among my favorites. They are super friendly and I just love the shiny black and copper feathers. Im always trying to get good pics of the beetle green, it seems their whole body nearly lights up green at sunset. When I sit out there watching them they often come up close and kinda hang out and watch me lol.

I'm so bummed, been waiting for my chicks to come in, the girl at Runnings said they'd be another week! (Something went wrong at the hatchery!)

It is all I can do to not go buy a 6 pack of something else to tie me over until my RIRS come in.
