NY chicken lover!!!!

That's a lot of boiling and blending and straining, beer can! No wonder store bought coloring is so popular! Yea, I would definitely go with the turmeric powder. Much easier. There's also anatto that will give you red. I don't know if you're familiar with it. It's what they put in the seasoning mix 'Sazon' to make it reddish orange. Speaking of which, you could probably use Sazon and get seasoned orangey eggs!

Gramma, I like the coop in the first link you sent..
Your welcome ...I thought it looked easy to make ..time will tell ...Right
Regarding the bloody chick poop, I didn't see very much today, and everyone is still looking and behaving 'chickenly', rushing to the fence when I approach, eating their garlicky feed, trying to steal bits of kale from each other, etc.
Good to hear ..they sound healthy

Great site, thanks! They mention;
"Especially since conventional food dyes are petroleum based and are linked to such things as hyperactivity in children, increased food sensitivities, and even rashes and eczema"
Oil, like in motor oil petroleum based dyes, a lot of people don't know this is where most food dyes come from. We have five kids, one is a little .... rambunctious, out of control sometimes...my Gramma said 'you can't expect them all to be the same!'. Dyes seemed to bring out the worst of her, red dyes in particular, Kool Aid, most cough medicine and liquid Tylenol.
All natural and dye free she's fine. I've never been into or cared about all natural anything, been brought to my plate, and it's good...Thank you for the link.

I whole heartedly believe that is why we are where we are with our health as a Country. They found petroleum by-products in McDonald's chicken nuggets. The problem is...if we don't know the process something goes through or what something contains how do we make an educated decision to use it or not? If you look at food as a drug- everything you put in your mouth has some kind of consequence and physical change in the body- you can start making the choices to change. When you look at food addicts brain activity when they are on a cab high- same areas of the brain are activated than those who take a hit of crack... Amazing. And the poor kids with ADHD their brains are never fully active- never quite light up fully in the areas where they should be on a given task.

Best of luck with your five children finding what works best for your family. It seems you are already well onto some good answers!

I have one with her own issues. She is 17 and vegan now. She has hit honor roll all year in her Senior year. Finally focused and I believe a lot has to do with her food choices. So, Who knows!

I do however when I called they told us we are not suppose to have backyard chickens
There is zoning and there are "Ordinances" They are not the same. There should be something in writing. Without seeing that I would not be sure. Sorry to say people can be lazy and they lie.

Two time warners reps said, the Basic is only 14 channels. It's 21.

I would try to find this information without setting off any red flags.

If yo've found notingn my guess is this has not beomce and issue and has not been addressed. I would check with neighbors and if there are no objections I'd get a half dozen hens. I would not give out any unsolicted information to the neihborss. Don't say, I checked and there is nothing that says I CAN have chcikens. Only That there is nothing AGAINST you having chcikens.

Choose a quiet breed.

is that their opinion or is it in writing somewhere ..like a law or ordinance
Can you take it before the board to get a variance? if it is
Many people consider chickens pets ..not live stock ...like if it has a name it is a pet
Get a note from your doctor stating they are "comfort animals". "they keep me from killing my (........ ) insert name of relative.
