NY chicken lover!!!!

400

My first hatch of the season.

I agree some people dont value anything they get for free ..
but dont want to pay a decent price for a almost adult chicken you fed ...to get that size ...

What is West Windfield?
Did I see someone took the Marans ? Where they pretty ?
I miss Ginger ...my brown EE ...
I've had offers but haven't named my price. Yours of course still holds.

I've been talking for friend at church. She's up to 17 hens no rooster. She may get her sister to use my incubator to hatch some of my Lavender and Blue EE eggs. I do have an EE that is broody I think. These chickens just keep working against me.

We're booked to AK next month so I will either have to get DD to take care of more than one coop or wring necks. Chickens really aren't that hard to care for. The main thing is to keep them in water and feed and LOCK them in at night. How hard is that?

You know folks merchandisers have a job to create things to sell you for your chickens. Things you don't really need. Like toys, Blocks of seed, expensive meal worms and vitamins. You basic feed will keep your birds healthy just fine. It's when we feed treats that they fill up on, like I fill up on Little Debbie snacks that things get out of whack. Point. Don't feel compelled to spend your hard earned dollars on things they don't really need. Unless of course you're rich, just keep an eye on things.

NOW WHY I CAME HERE. Does anyone here own their own carpet cleaning machine? What kind? How easy is it to use? How well does it work? I'm looking at the Bissell "Power Steamer Upright Carpet Cleaners " . $119 at the Christmas Tree shop. Our carpets need cleaning but with grandkids and a wife who dotes on them and lets them eat in the livingroom I'm fighting a losing battle. We'd like to have it replaced with hardwood but carpeting hides a great deal. We once looked at a house for sale where they ran the carpeting right over a hole in the floor!! Anyhow we have an add on to the living room and I just know we'll need to have work don't to level things off.

I steam clean our carpets about once a month. They are so much grosser than you'd expect. With 5 kids, and a bunch of 4 legged family members, I think it's as important as vacuuming. I have the model you listed, and it's easy to use and works well. I just laundry detergent instead of the carpet shampoos most of the time, it's a lot cheaper and does the same thing.

Ours are pretty bad and I'd like to do them myself as I don't know much about having a cleaner come in. I did learn to use just the basic foam shave cream on the worst spots, when I worked at a retirement home so I will do that but thanks for the tip.
