NY chicken lover!!!!

My DH bid on a rare breed assortment on rare breed auctions for my birthday this week and won! It was for just 12 chicks from GFF but Josette sent me 20! All but one are lively and doing well. The other looks like she got wet from grogel so she's under the heat lamp and I'm hoping she pulls through.

I got 2 light Sussex, 3 BCM, 3 spitz, 8 queen Silvia and 4 lemon Fresian gulls. The gulls are $99 a chick from their website, I couldn't believe I got some of those! Anyways...very happy with my gift. I won't be keeping all of these chicks probably just a few from each...not sure yet. I'll have to research the gulls and queen Silvias bc I'm not too familiar with those breeds.

If anyone would be interested in one of these breeds let me know!

Wow there's only about 1,000 of the Gulls in existence in Germany, you (or someone) should make an effort to perpetuate the breed. The lemon variety is super gorgeous. Congrats on the win, what an awesome bday gift!!

Congrats & Happy Birthday!! Sounds like a really fun mix! We need pics. Never can have too many chick pics on here.
 
I found someone who is taking the queen Silvia's, and spitz. I'll probably keep all 3 BCM to see how they grow out then decide from there. Not sure about the light Sussex.

My Merleraults from @PhoredaBurds are just over 3 weeks and jumped over to the baby chicks brooder! Watched them for awhile and they seem okay. Those Merleraults are so sweet and curious!

Lost my 4 year old black Orp hen to vehicular slaughter. :,( She was in my first group of chickens. Was hoping she would go broody around Chickenstock time, she was an awesome broody. Going out to see if the ground is thawed enough for electronet. And going to rehome the other 3 worst offenders for road crossing to someone with a coop and run.
