NY chicken lover!!!!

The Barn Swallow: Welcome! I think you will love the Watertown area. It is so pretty in the Adirondacks and very rural in most places.

Rancher Hicks: Happy Aniversery. I am glad there is something happy to celebrate on this day.

Cleaned coops right down to the boards Thursday and rebedded. Now thinking about keeping water from freezing and breaking my waterers this winter. Last winter was trucking warm water out twice to three times per day. Still had split waterers. Have to decide where to hang the laterns to wake the girls up for their night time watering. They wake up and walk around kind of sleepy until they spot the treats and the water. Then they are happy to eat and drink and head back to bed.

Good night everyone.

Happy Country Hens

When the water freezes, I use those ugly black rubber tubs that tsc sells. When the water freezes in them, I turn them upside down, stomp on them with my foot, & the ice falls out.
So easy.

Morning

Wanted to peep on over and tell my soon to be new neighbors GOOD MORNING.. Was checking out yalls Craiglist for the town there near Fort Drum, saw a few places that was available for rent with some acreage, so I was up late last night emailing on their places... Of course I had to ask if chickens were allowed

Hope to hear back from some today, its one of those things where we have to get our feelers out now and then HOPE that when we get there some of these places will still be available to rent... Initially we were going to buy but given the current turn around on homes and what not we may go with renting).

Happy Belated Anniversary to Rancher
