Love the cooler and dryer weather!

I now have two NN ladies laying + one other of my youngest pullet group.. Next year I'm definitely making more NN babies. I don't care what y'all say, I love my NN girls.

Anyone looking for a gorgeous EE roo? He's not aggressive but he's fickle. Grrr! I have him in a coop with 22 lovely ladies, at least half of which look mature enough (red combs/faces/wattles) and this fickle boy will take off at TOP speed towards my older girls in another coop and not leave their sides for the whole day until roost time. Whassup with that? And the older girls already have a roo, a shy (so far) BO roo. Of course, my EE is his superior, but he's leaving my large group unprotected. Men!! (and yes, I know I can keep them cooped up, but I let them range when I am around). He'll learn to love those girls this winter or he isn't 'getting any'.

I have hen that an apron didn't work on either. I had read about someone using duct tape. I smeared antibiotic ointment on her bare spots and applied duct tape. I waited until it was coming off on it's own and removed the rest carefully and she does have feather growth under it. It seems to be working. Looks kind of funny. Oh and I use de for dusting as she CAN NOT preen under the duct tape. Just an idea......

I heard folks have used duct tape but being a NN she is horribly with out feathers...duct tape on skin?! The funny thing is I never see a rooster near her?! I did buy her that way...she hasn't gotten better and lays a good size egg..I just want her to have feathers...I am going out now with the duct tape...wish her luck...
