Exactly and you don't an egg...well if it is a hen...you know...oh one is laying and the other is 4 months old...the older one is so featherless..I am worried..I have but a saddle on her but she army crawls around and then does this thing with her wings and off it comes...this winter could be cold...I brought her that way..she is a buff with gray under feathers..very pretty the young one is blk with brown eyebrows..a big bowtie so doesn't that mean she isn't pure?!
I have hen that an apron didn't work on either. I had read about someone using duct tape. I smeared antibiotic ointment on her bare spots and applied duct tape. I waited until it was coming off on it's own and removed the rest carefully and she does have feather growth under it. It seems to be working. Looks kind of funny. Oh and I use de for dusting as she CAN NOT preen under the duct tape. Just an idea......
I heard folks have used duct tape but being a NN she is horribly with out feathers...duct tape on skin?! The funny thing is I never see a rooster near her?! I did buy her that way...she hasn't gotten better and lays a good size egg..I just want her to have feathers...I am going out now with the duct tape...wish her luck...
