NY chicken lover!!!!

@Beer can it seems I have 2 cockerels in my CornishX group. If you are interested in one of them. They free range from 10am until the decide to gather at the feed dishes and yell for food, usually around 7. I plan on keeping a few of the pullets to cross to my fat boy mutt and see what I get. I am also getting 25 more from Cackle the week of the 17th if you want to wait. Just let me know.

I'd prefer some girls, have a nice white naked neck cockerel and one pullet, would like to add some girls. Also keeping a much bigger and heavier red/black cockerel to put with the rest of the girls. Meyers and Murray's sell sexed pullets in cornishX been thinking of ordering some myself, doubt that will happen, over run with chickens right now. Would rather just get a few girls local, 1,2,3 what ever. If you've never raised cornyX you'll find out, no chance on cockerels doing anything, pullets, sometimes happens and they live, lay eggs.

Thanks for the link
Heres a direct one ..

This suggests all stages of them together ..I dont think I would want 3 containers ...
Is there a reason you are seperating them ?

RANCHER - they are under the nest boxes ...there is some grass dirt etc there...the nest boxes are all wood with open tops and set on ceramic tile .floor of the hen house ..
They are on the tile under the nest boxes ...chicken dont see them and neither do I unless I pick up the boxes and move them

I found it just makes it easier to scoop a handful of worms ont. I prefer not to have the beetles in the coop - it just preference not necessity.

Anyone here grow Butterfly bushes? I'm going to plant two (different varieties) but wondered if there is special advice since we are in zone 5. Do you offer winter protection? Do you prune in the spring or fall?

How low do you prune? Do you have any pictures of your bush/bushes?

Haven't been on in a while. My little girl was born on July 2nd. The labor was 1 hour 22 minutes. My husband delivered her on the couch before the midwife could make it.
In other news my Sweedish flower roo was to aggressive so I decided no to breed him and ate him instead. We are getting lots of eggs from the ladies and my boys enjoy that. Because of the accident my new landlord had we are not moving so they are not our new landlord and I missed a summer of building, so I'm way behind. I have lots of cockerels, most from GFF if anyone is interested.
