NY chicken lover!!!!

Haven't been on in a while. My little girl was born on July 2nd. The labor was 1 hour 22 minutes. My husband delivered her on the couch before the midwife could make it.
In other news my Sweedish flower roo was to aggressive so I decided no to breed him and ate him instead. We are getting lots of eggs from the ladies and my boys enjoy that. Because of the accident my new landlord had we are not moving so they are not our new landlord and I missed a summer of building, so I'm way behind. I have lots of cockerels, most from GFF if anyone is interested.

Congratulations on the new baby!!

That is fast ! Congratulations !
With the new baby it may have been a tough move ....
Hope the new landlord gets better soon ..
You are building on someone else property? wouldnt the structure belong to them ?

So your worms are in the coop ? I probably have all 3 stages in there and didnt know it .lol

No - I phrased that wrong, I don't keep them in the coop, they are upstairs in the barn. When you scoop them out of their container you occasionlly get beetles in the mix - my girls won't eat the beetles! I don't really want the beetles setting up shop in the coop....

So I have some chicks in with big girls. Mothers who hatched chicks. The marans don't seem to be bad, but the lav ee hen is a witch. I had to move a Del chick because she was all bloody. They have room in the run but not the coop. When I out there in the am it's not soon enough.

So I moved the chicks and blue koted it and it's doing okay. BUT today I noticed the Barred chicks is listless. So I moved it to in with the Del chick.

I've been moving the EE hen at night back with her crew. Then let her in with her chick in the morning. Today I kicked her out as she's picking at the chicks. She only has one blue chick.

I don't usually have this trouble with Delaware adults. Even the roosters.

I have two hens due tomorrow. One I heard the chick saying "let me out of here".

AND an EE young hen is broody. I'll be pulling any eggs from her. She usually runs back and forth to get into the Delaware run. I'd hoped to hatch her eggs since she's with the EE rooster and get some Olive eggers. Or do I her father is the marans.

Anyhow I think these chickens hate me.

I've posted four older marans hens on CL for free but so far no takers.
