Does anyone want a really handsome and protective BCM rooster? Hes friggin amazing but keeps getting into fights with his other bros. I am building a new set up soon for my birds and addiction but I don't think it's soon enough for him. I can't trust him around the other doods.

Great with people. Can turn your back without hesitation
Great with dogs.

Does not do well with anything less than being #1 man around.
Anyways he's great and I could go on and on about why. But just wanted to throw it out here first. I want him to go to someone raising BCM and not a mixed flock since he would be good for a BCM program. Also I have photos but didn't want to flood it here so if anyone is interested please let me know by Tuesday at 7pm. Otherwise I will post him available for another local group on facebook.

I'm debating doing an order for them, or waiting for an auction of them but they say they have a good amount of orders to fill already. I cant wait to try the breed. On a good note I should be getting 4 large fowl silver double laced barnevelders. I also have more SFH eggs on the way and have an order for BLRW that should ship in April

The track pattern and print size (greater than 3.5" long and wide) are similar to those of mountain lion; however, for lynx the straddle (measured between parallel lines along outside edges of two successive prints) is generally smaller (less than 9")

No Gramma - further down the other way. The road 'dead-ends' and once you get past Tims' property it truly is wild. High Tor nature reserve is about 20 miles from here, so it's highly likely we have mountain lions. Don't know about the tracks although Canadian Lynx have been seen infrequently in the general area. A couple of years ago Tim posted pix of the our resident bear raiding the bird feeders! Our other neighbor was less than pleased since she's an avid birder

We have been blessed that the bigger creatures have left us alone, I think the Beagles keep most creatures a good distance away.
Ms Possum is still in the barn....hopefully I'm going to get to see the ladies later today - I've only seen them from a distance for the last 2 weeks...

In mid-January in the Town of Tyre, Seneca County, a dog was attacked and killed by something big. The DEC said it was likely a large bobcat. It's not too far from us.

Well, speaking of predators, our neighbor down the road found some interesting tracks.

DEC says mountain lion......

Do you have a bigger shot of them. See I look for spacing between the prints. Right now I'm seeing big prints in the drive but I know they're most likely "Riddicks" he's a big Boxer mix. His prints are clear and I can tell he's a heavy dog. I've not seen him go after the chickens, though he's had the chance. Neighbors dog, I don't bother complaining.

I joined the Marans FB site hoping to score some Birchens. I sold some hens and gave them a rooster a long while back but where they ended up I don't know. Up Oswego way and never heard back from the people that got them. So many get raided and lose the whole flock I wonder what happened. Posted to CL but no response. Can't afford GFF and I'm not sure they even have Birchens anymore.

I consider just getting a Copper roo since the hens I have have copper in them I think and none really have the markings of the Birchen roosters.
