hey neighbor. Over the hill in Canaan. Many of my broody's were born early and are laying well. Then some were born last week and all in between. Next year I WILL have a lot of eggs to sell!

Hey neighbor!good to hear that someone will have eggs to sell!!

I got my first REAL SIZED egg today. So way cool. It was either my white hen or Maid Marion (an olive egger/Maran, not sure which she is) IF it is the olive egger I own, it is a BROWN egg. I want colors, I tell you. C. O. L. O. R. S.

YAY for a big egg! I feel your pain if it's your OE - I have three olive eggers that lay brown eggs. But they are sweet chickies anyways.

Will you have eating eggs during the winter that you would sell? I do not want to buy them in the store and would rather support another BYCer! Besides your not that far away.

hard to say. My old girls don't much in the winter. My younger ones may. If I do I'll let you know. Last winter we got only enough for us and my parents.

Anyone near me, I have TONS of eating eggs to sell and no one to buy them until my neighbor shuts down her much bigger fruit/veggie/egg stand. I tried CL, but got only a few people who kept telling me they wanted five dozen and never showing up.

I'm near saratoga springs, but I am in albany two days a week.

If I am lucky, should have eggs through the winter, as I have a whole coop of 18 pullets just starting to lay + 7 more that should start in a month or two. Of course, they'll be smaller eggs for a while.

I'm back from AL.

Anyhow , I was thinking there are many recipes that use eggs that can be frozen, such as breads and stuff like that. I think you can freeze some cookie doughs and batters too, right. You can make up this stuff ahead of time and when Christmas gets here just take it out and bake it up.

Still I have lots of eggs too. I do donate some to friends on low incomes though. Lord knows we all go through hard times now and then.

Yah I bring them to the food bank when it gets utterly ridiculous. I've already got a freezer full of pound cake - I don't eat enough sweet stuff to make it worth making baked goods. I may freeze some and I also scramble some up for the chickens.

ETA: was thinking of just putting a cooler out at the end of my driveway with 'self serve' eggs and a can nailed to a tree for the money, but my paranoid DH is worried about 'the man' so haven't done it yet.
