Yes That is why it is Nice to have a friend with Fertile eggs .. But if you dont you have to go with shipped eggs

Same here. We had to refill the cups for the chicks. And since I didn't have the regular water dishes cleaned, they have currently stolen one of the cats dishes.
Gramma - the chicks are too small, so they are drinking around the trigger.

I cant believe how much they drink.... Lol

If my hatch goes well I'll have Wheaten Ameraucanas or Lavender Ameraucanas soon. I'm still waiting on Splash Ameraucana eggs, but they should arrive in time too.

If you ever have anything to sell let me know!! I'm definitely interested in any colors!

I just set 106 eggs. Because shipped eggs don't always benefit from turning in the first 3 days I'm going to candle on 4/3 in the evening and toss any bad eggs then before I start turning regularly.

Do the coocko Marans lay the pretty super dark eggs? I want the dark egg layers.

As a rule not as dark as the Coppers. How ever like all barred and cuckoo patterns they are sexable as chicks.

I actually doubled my order from the Marans breeder to increase my odds of a good hatch for you and Metella who both expressed interest. I'll bring all extras to Chickenstock - they'll be about 4 weeks old at that point. You're close enough that you can pick them up before then.

I haven't decided what I'm keeping vs. selling because the hatch is so risky. 106 shipped eggs would average a 35-45 chick hatch. One breed I ordered (Brabanter) has worse rates. The others could be better. Depending on what/how many hatch I'll probably sell for $7-$10 each.
