NY chicken lover!!!!

I will keep you posted. I ordered hatching eggs from several breeders.
Ameraucana:
Wheaten Blue Splash from California
Lavender from California
Wheaten Blue Splash from Massachusetts
Blue Wheaten from South Carolina
Splash (possible silkied) from South Carolina
Project Fun Color from South Carolina
Others:
Isbar from Florida
Frisian Gull from Florida
Cream Brabanter from Florida
Pumpkin and Gold Pavlovskaya from Florida
Blue Birchen, Blue, Splash Marans from Ohio

I just set 106 eggs. Because shipped eggs don't always benefit from turning in the first 3 days I'm going to candle on 4/3 in the evening and toss any bad eggs then before I start turning regularly.
Definitely interested in the Birchen.

I actually doubled my order from the Marans breeder to increase my odds of a good hatch for you and Metella who both expressed interest. I'll bring all extras to Chickenstock - they'll be about 4 weeks old at that point. You're close enough that you can pick them up before then.

I haven't decided what I'm keeping vs. selling because the hatch is so risky. 106 shipped eggs would average a 35-45 chick hatch. One breed I ordered (Brabanter) has worse rates. The others could be better. Depending on what/how many hatch I'll probably sell for $7-$10 each.

tao, who in ohio has the blue birchens? I like to keep a list of the blue birchen breeders (in addition to black copper and black birchen) on my word document since there are SO few. So far I only have

  • Brickhaven Acres
  • Gold Feather Farms
  • Rising Phoenix Farm
  • Laurel Meadows

In other news, I finally found someone that sells La Fleche hatching eggs YASss

Laurel Meadows is where I ordered from. I know you were looking for birchen too, right? I'll let you know how they do.
