Funny when I was taking him back in ..

He stopped after I turned around and warned him the 2nd time

Don't know know if everyone's TSC is doing this but ours in Sidney is. Farmer's Market. Sell your homemade or homegrown goods (flowers produce candles art etc) No fee.

Don't know how many people have produce this time of yr.

Totally ticked! My fall hatch pullets just started laying and it appears I have an egg eater!!! I had a nice dark speckled egg in the nesting box late morning thought maybe leave it to see if that got others to lay there as well....

It was gone but the remnants of yolk on the shavings and a piece of shell stinkers!!!! I just bought some oyster shell to throw out there for them (I have had a cpl rubber eggs broken in the coop) I will obviously not be leaving eggs anymore any other suggestions...? Grrrrr

I use wooden eggs in the nest boxes. I figure a few pecks on those and they'll learn eggs aren't edible. Chickens are not so stupid as we think. Too keep nests cleared of to many eggs. Stepping on an egg may break it and lead to trouble. I try anything to prevent egg eating.

Nest boxes should be only big enough for them to get in and get out. Dark and not easy to see in. Those pictures in the books may look cute but they're misleading.

I seen my Cortland TSC was advertising a Farmers Market as well. We actually have quite a few year round markets, either veggies from hoop houses or other food items like cheese, meats, honey, maple products.

Cortland? I am originally from Groton but now live down in the Hudson valley. There is a place near Cortland I think by McGraw or Mclean that does Apple products and maple products along with other stuff... can't remember the name but when we went it was amazing lol.
