NY chicken lover!!!!

Is anyone interested in Call ducks? I have about five or seven Call ducklings looking for a home. I don't mind holding for Chickenstock but the price will be higher then than if you buy them now and come get them.

Sand Hill order update. After looking more closely at my paperwork it looks like actually today was the first day they expected to ship my order. The way they had highlighted the possible dates just made it look like they were supposed to ship on the 4th.

I was confused on that because also when I called them to confirm they received my order, they told me on the phone the first possible ship date was the 4th, but that must have changed before they mailed the letter.

However, they did not ship today. And the next ship date isn't until May 2nd. So the wait continues.

Edit: Nope I looked again, it does say on there projected shipping date April 4th. But then they didn't highlight that date in the possible dates that they will ship section. So I really don't know.

Free range ducks are no mess at all, if you can specifically just free range them, no coop no fuss no muss. I used to be able to before we moved and loved them, once the first batch of stinky piggies was out of the house. I'd love to have them again or geese but I'd have to fence in our pond.

Huh? ECK..? Naked necks are super cool!
Just a regular naked neck. He's actually smaller than my red/black naked neck roo but I love his muscular definition
Just hatched out 13 new cuties. All pure but three, I was hoping for some fm naked chicks so had a fm silkie/giant cross in with the white roo. Only one turned out fm, can't wait to see it grown, hopefully it's a pullet.
The black skin one from the silkie cross, other two pure
cuties :jumpy :yiipchick

Naked necks are the best!!! Beer - where are you located? Do you have any eggs you might sell? I am getting my new incubator in a few weeks and the fertility here sucks right now.

I moved my TSC chicks outside last week - they are the most skittish group of chicks I have ever had. I think my hatched here babies must get used to us
talking around the incubator and are calmer. Who knows? :)

Ways away from you I think, Masonville.
Fertility is great but I did have 15 die in shell before hatch

I only have three hens but they have been laying excellent. None of them hatched or dead was fully feathered, not even the three crosses.
I have a white rooster with a white hen and a red/black rooster with the other two, one is pure black. If I had been thinking I would have kept a black cockerel instead of the red/black, I just liked his color and wasn't thinking about recognized colors.
If all of them had hatched I would have parted with some chicks cheap.

Beer Can...are you the one that has a pond? My husband dug a pond years ago. Now it has
filled with mud...sides fell in I guess. He lined it all with large rocks and it was fine for our Call Ducks for many years. Now it has cat tails and MUD.

I called Oneida County Extension.....asked what I could do to revive the Pond. She said I was lucky to have the man made Pond for so many years. I am trying to find someone who would clean the Pond. It is looking so poorly. Any suggestions? Thanks Aria

We use a mini-excavator to clean ours.
