My DW made some awesome butternut squash (split in half and filled with a mix of squash, onions, venison sausage and other goodies)! Yummy!

I hear you....but it is funny for someone as young as you...one never knows what is in store for them...
The sun is out here...maybe our solar powered Halloween light will charge...they are off more then on!

Enjoy the day everyone and the folks with the snow...try to enjoy!

Sue did say there is a ton of birds at Crossroads....she so nicely is bringing me some birds! Thanks Sue!

Chickens are too chicken to come out of the coop today. They won't even get off the roost and see if it is possible to come out. No eggs either. What's with that? A little white stuff and it scares the stuffing out of the birds?

Trees are all bent out of shape too. And my clothes line is hanging very low. BUT the sun is out and the song birds hmm...the song birds are mysteriously missing. But if they were around they would be singing.

New snowblower works like new. (Until he hit a stick with it, but that's another story) So I have paths to everywhere I need to go.

Woodstove has living room heated up to 75 degrees. (Guess I can shut the air down to that a little.)

Life is good. I think I'm gonna go clear the snow off the deck chairs and enjoy the sun. (and maybe find where the song birds have gone)

my Sumatra's don't care about the snow. They are out and about doing whatever it is they do

. Now my RIR's on the other hand. They won't leave the coop. The ducks, who are usually scared of everything seem to like the snow. The sun is out, and that 10 inches of snow is quickly getting shorter.

We're not too far from Liberty in Sullivan County. Where are you?

We are in Sauquoit, New York about 9 miles South of Utica. Aria

2 Roosters and 3 hens came out. They are walking on the paths ray made for me to get to the coop and car. I threw some snow down in front of them and they ran like the sky was falling. LOL

Still no eggs. They seem to be freaked out. Poor babies.

Last week I lost a RIR cockeral and pullet (wouldn't ya know, the one cockeral I did not want to lose). This afternoon - broad daylight, mind you, we spotted the suspected culprit. Seems we have also lost the NN we were saving to father some young ones with our silkies girls. I am asking Santa for a Red Ryder BB gun...

Sun is out and our 9 inches is melting fast. The chickens were too chicken to come out their coop until just before I returned home from work. Dh was on guard duty. Only 5 of the 8 came out and are doing their best to hit all the melted spots so they dont have to put their dainty feet in the icky white stuff. 4 eggs today. Not bad since they are molting. My silkies are still freaked out a bit over the roof appearing on their run and so are hiding in their coop. I will have to go tease Mummbles so he comes out to challenge me then the rest will follow.

Lost our electric last night and it just came back on 30 min ago. Hope this isnt a harbinger of our winter to come. So far my new used car seems to do okay in the snow.

In His Service--a good, highpowered pellet rifle with a scope is what you should ask santa for. It certainly has taken care of our "problems".

I need to get a pellet gun also. We have a real .22 rifle as well, but I'd rather use a pellet gun if it will be sufficient. So far we just have the occasional skunk, but who knows what lurks when I'm not looking?
