NY chicken lover!!!!

I still need to put plastic up but if I do then the temp will spike and it will be like a sauna in the runs. It's cold but no snow. Folks must have expected it cuz the Depends aisle was empty. Good thing I order mine on line.

I only need three things, Coffee, 1/2x1/2 and Depends.

( I probably shouldn't make jokes about wearing depends, I might end up wearing them)

These are beautiful photos. BUT hate the snow. Where in NY are you? We got a dusting
yesterday and most of the Snow is gone. SNOW...go away. Regards, Aria

Well, rancher, you know if you make jokes God's sense of humor being what it is you'll wind up needing them....but then it depends on God's mood.

You crack me up. FYI they do make Depends that fit better, but they aren't called "Depends", they are made by another company. You just let me know when you really need the info and I'll fill you in on what works and what leaks. (Not my personal experience, I'm the wrong gender. I work with Sr's and most of my clients are men. They just can't take care of themselves, it seems)

Snow is here. LOTS OF SNOW and THE QUEEN IS NOT AMUSED.

Ray is making spagetti and I made brownies. Wood is in all the places we keep wood so I won't freeze to death. Chickens have hot water in their water dishes and cracked corn (left over from ducks last year, so I am using it first) mixed with their food. Silkie is still sitting on the eggs. Jessie is still being a PIA. Brand new, still in the plastic, snowblower is in the barn. Life is good.

Only thing that would make it better would be if the hubs would lock on the truck so the 4 wheel drive would work, if we need to go out for some INSANE reason.

Stay warm and dry, everyone. See you when they restore the power (that they claim we are all going to lose some time tonight)

Cass...my friend emailed me earlier today. She said she was warned. There was 7 inches of wet snow coming and maybe no power.

Up to now...it is NOT snowing here...it's just cold. Ranger, you are TOO Funny. Regards, Aria

Yup--everyone came into the pharm this am like they had never seen snow before needing everything RIGHT NOW! I heard the supermarkets were a zoo so I went home and will do my regular food shopping later. Freaks. You would think the world was ending.

When I got home I got a nice surprise. DH went and got the free tin and roofed the silkie run for me! It looks beautiful and works well. The silkies are happy. My hens, however, are royally peeved at the appearance of snow. They wouldnt come out from under their tractor and reemed me out the whole time I was out there throwing boss in their coop and knocking the heavy snow off the top of their run. Like its MY fault the nasty white stuff is here. Spoiled wenches!

I hope this is done by the time i have to work tomorrow. Rancher--I will let you know when Depends goes on sale. Sometimes there are coupons for them in sundays paper!lol

Nice pics Itsy. Looks like my house but I have more snow.

Stay warm and dry everyone!

I guess Purina just sends them after they see you used one. Then you print it out. They have a member number but I never carry the card.

Sullivan county is not to far from us. I hate snow and don't need it.

Got home late today and went out to close the chickens in with my son. He says there is an extra chicken behind the nest box. Then he notes that it is a skunk!

So we nicely asked Mr. Skunk to leave the coop and he complied. As he walked out into the covered outdoor pen with buried wire six inches down, I closed up the door to the run. He was a young skunk, about half grown. The chickens were all roosted and were ok.

Haven't gotten many eggs from Doris lately.....hmmmmm.

Gonna have to fix this problem.

Quick.

Sorry about your snow. We got 2-3 inches on the ground Thursday night and most of it is gone now.

I was fun going into town (down in the valley enough so they had rain and no snow) and throwing snowballs at our freinds from the snow on our car.
