NY chicken lover!!!!

We have SNOW here. It is on the evergreen branches and on the ground. HOPE it leaves.
Now time for WINTER. Our Silkies are staying close to the Barn....not walking in the yard like they usually do.

The Sun just came out. Hopefully the Snow will melt. Looking forward to better weather.
Regards, Aria

Silkie Chickens Are A Joy

That's because they hynotized you. When I had mine I woke up to find one of them had gotten into the house and was perched on the head board staring down at me and DW. I double bolted the door after that and soon gave them away.

Before that I found one hiding in the "SWIFFER" box.

No silkies for me thanks,

Rancher

We had a little snow on the ground this morning. I spent a while outside getting ready for the snow were supposed to get tomorrow. Hoping we don't get anything though.

That was me last month after a cat bite (was an accident, was trying to groom my barn cat's gigantic matts and nicked her).. Lesse, 10 days of augmentin, then 5 days of z-pack, then 14 days of augmentin.. ugh!

Cat scratch fever is the worst. When I get scratched by my cat I wash the Helk out of it every few hours. My stomach could NOT take all those antibiotics.

We're under a storm warning here, which is just peachy keen given that a good percentage of the trees still have their leaves. One of my huge maples in the back yard lost a big limb last nght just from a couple of inches of snow. If it hits the way it's being predicted to hit, we'll be without power for a while. Ugh. I've also been shanghaied into working in a store in Williamstown, MA, 45 miles and about an hour's drive from me (for some inexplicable reason, nobody else could POSSIBLY work), so I'm looking forward to a fairly hellacious drive home, as much of the drive is heavily wooded. Not. Happy.

My lot finally came out of their coop this afternoon after nearly two days of self-imposed indoor time. Leopold the Polish would occasionally appear in the pop door to "doodle-doo" his annoyance at the cold rain and at all the weird white stuff lying in the run, and the Sussex boys spent some time poking around outside, but all the pullets stayed in the coop most of the time like sensible girls. I brought them some scratch and BOSS this afternoon, and was roundly scolded by them. "What was that white, cold substance, and why on Earth did you dump it in our run?"

Yeah, almost all of our trees still have leaves on them. cbs6albany has us in 7-10", and wnyt has us in 7-12". They also has us in the major chance for power outages.

Good thing it will warm up next week, so hopefully it will be gone quick.
