How are everyone's chickens doing during the heat we've been having? Any tips?
I’m glad I built my run in the wooded area surrounding my lawn. in summer there’s great shade cover and in winter the leaves fall to let the sun in :)

I’ve frozen some veggie scraps for the hotter days to come.

Mine have a great deal of shade but apparently don't realize it lol. I've tried ice cubes with corn or fruit but they're not interested. I did just lightly mist some of them who seemed hotter than others. I know water baths are not recommended but the inside of their coop is over 100 right now.

I have some young standard pullets for sale. My neighbor is throwing a fit about my chickens and threatening me. In a farming community but he’s afraid his dog is going to kill my chickens. Like he’s afraid she’s going to jump over a four foot tall fence to get to them. 😑 So im just looking to sell a couple extras to shut him up. Im about 45 minutes west of Albany in Schoharie county. I don’t currently have pictures of them but will take some later today. The breeds are sagitta and leghorn. I might also have some Easter eggers as well.
I know this is an older post but you're in Schoharie County too?!

I am in Schoharie county. Where in the county are you? She’s a really nice lady. I’m glad I found her because my shipped eggs weren’t working out as well.
I tell everyone Cobleskill but more towards Seward. You? Yes! She has beautiful birds too. We have some in the incubator we just got from her on Saturday

I’m in Esperance. I actually hatched out a bunch of her eggs a couple months back and most of them were boys. So I went back and bought more chicks from her. I hope I get more girls this time around.
