I saw an ad on Craigslist warning people of a guy who was selling sick livestock at swaps. Who does that?Oh wow, misogynistic much? I hate that. I'm sorry you had to deal with that. I haven't seen a ton of drama but I do have some people that I really dislike the amount of "me! me!" attention they try to get. They literally comment on every single post and it's not like they're super good because everyone says they have sold sick chicks.
I have a lot of issues with anxiety and PTSD so I limit my time on FB because of how it can be. Right? Apparently, a lot of people don't care and will sell nearly dying chicks for a quick buck. Just awful.I saw an ad on Craigslist warning people of a guy who was selling sick livestock at swaps. Who does that?
FB is actually one of the ways I ended up here, besides google search that is. I was asking a lot of questions in a beginner group and someone suggested joining here. After googling a lot of questions, the people on FB couldn’t or wouldn’t answer, I finally signed up and quit FB. I’ve had a lot less anxiety since joining BYC actually.
No problem!Thanks!
I could never do that. Every chick I’ve sold I leave the person buying them with my number and tell them to feel free to text or call anytime. I’m actually still in touch with some of the people who bought my roosters. I would be so mad if I bought sick chicks and they got the rest of my flock sick. I quarantine but still. Don’t risk other people’s animals to just get rid of yours.I have a lot of issues with anxiety and PTSD so I limit my time on FB because of how it can be. Right? Exactly! An animal is a living breathing being just like us. Ethical breeders get a bad reputation with people like that being in the community. There’s a swap on Sunday in Central Bridge if you’re interested. PM me if you would like details/location etcI could never do that. The lady I bought the satin/ silkie eggs from actually told me a story about how someone sold her a sick goat. The goat wasn’t registered and showed no signs of sickness at first. I don’t remember all the details but this experience made her quit goat keeping.
Is that the one on rt 7?Exactly! An animal is a living breathing being just like us. Ethical breeders get a bad reputation with people like that being in the community. There’s a swap on Sunday in Central Bridge if you’re interested. PM me if you would like details/location etc

I've been looking for some bantam hatching eggs to experiment with and the closest I could find was across the river in PA.
