NY chicken lover!!!!

I know they make turkey feed in pellet form. At least that’s what their website says. I’m basing all my info off their website. There’s a keystone mills super close to me and I’ve heard really good things about them. But looking at their website I couldn’t find what I wanted. And most of the other mills around me only make mash feed.
Do they have a number listed? That’s how I found my distributor & he answered all the questions I had.

What do you use by them? I’m trying to find a good local crumble or pellet all flock/ chick feed that has high protein. But I can only really find the mash. My bantams won’t eat the mash. I’d rather go with a crumble too but if I have to go with a pellet I will.
I’m currently using their chick starter but it’s powdered kinda lol but I ferment it so I’m not concerned with crumble or pellet but the birds love it and they are growing very well https://www.keystonemills.com/wp-co.../9203313-Key-AN-Poultry-Str-TSC-Rev070714.pdf

i still have 3 guinea hens from my hatch last summer if anyone is interested in a small group of them, they are a little skittish and not doing great with the rest of my guineas they do however do good with chickens since they were raised with them, I will not sell them as meat birds or overnight free-range birds unless there is a watch animal out at night as well 2 males 1 female i am in dutchess county near the Connecticut border

Her companion died suddenly which was my baby about 2 weeks ago and she wont come out the coop I have to get her and then she eats but goes right back inside once I go inside the house, i'm heartbroken I made the mistake of not adding to my flock once the first one died :(
Sorry for your sad loss. Is it possible your hen is broody? That sounds like broody behavior more than depression, but it could be both too.
As you have found out, two hens, and even three though that is better, are an unstable number. You might think about adding three more if you can find them, so that you have four in total. An even number offers the opportunity to pair off.

yes I want to add atleast 3-4 more, hmmm never thought if she was broody but she's on her perch not the nesting box.

Oh okay, if the roosting bar then not likely broody. Poor thing. She doesn't feel safe outside alone.

Well, you can buy chicks if you're set up to brood them yourself, or if you can afford it, buy pullets from a clean hatchery. You'll still have to go through a "see no touch" integration. You might have to do a quarantine period too esp. if you obtain privately.

Good luck! Sorry you're in this situation. Some people take their lone chicken inside with them at least to provide company, while they figure out next steps.
