On another note, I had to share this pic with you guys. We got kittens for the first time about a month ago. 100% white, brother and sister. The little boy (pictured here on one of my gecko houses) is deaf, but his sister is hearing. I have a room that I keep my many geckos in (and a fish tank), and I think the cats are soon to be disinvited from there. Here he is, wondering why I'm a little bothered. I have no idea how he managed to get on top of that.

Isn't he cute???

Okay peeps...so i ordered ivermectin online as nobody has the small bottles around here, just the giant, treat the whole herd size. It wasnt cheap but I am hoping to get some use out of it before it expires. Anyways, am I correct in my reading that LF get 1 cc and bantys .5 cc? Exactly where should I apply it on the chickens...on the back of their necks? Interesting about the dogs as well. I wonder how much you would use on an 80 pound lab?

I figure since the girls are still molting and not laying eggs, I might as well treat them. I havent seen any exterior problems or worms in their poop but I suppose its possible they do have worms since they have been eating lots of bugs and worms all year.

Still waiting for my silkie girls to lay. This is truly an exercise in patience. They are much more relaxed since Mumbles went to his new home. Little man treats them much nicer.

Off to the world of retail again for more screaming, insults and anger management issues!

Is it Eprinex? I've always used .5 cc for standards, .25 for bantams. That's the dose I found on here. It's something like 1cc per 22lbs, so assuming you have normal sized chickens .5 should be enough. Also, there's Ivermectin wormer that is NOT eprinex, which did you get?

This is Eprinex (eprinomectin):

This is ivermectin:

I don't know the dosing for the ivermectin but I am sure someone does. I only use the Eprinex.

Madsen,

If you do not live to far away, I could buy a few ccs off of you, cutting both our costs and hopefully not letting any go to waste. The amount is dependent on what the correct dosage is. I have 9 LF.

Its the Ivomec eprinex pour on that I ordered. No withdrawal time. Rancher posted a pic of the label and some info. I will have to read a bit more to see what the exact dosage is. I think my Storeys guide to chicken health has a dosage amount in there. If anyone else is familiar with and uses this product, by all means share your knowedge with me!

Ginny--pm me and we will work out a deal. I live in Ulster county. If anyone else is interested, let me know. Saves everyone from buying a bottle that will expire before you can use it all.

Off to the pharm! Have a good day everyone!

Here's a recipe for my favorite microwave custard:

Scald 3 cups of milk in a 1-quart measuring cup (6-8 minutes on high in the microwave).
Beat 5 eggs, 1/3 cup sugar, 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla, and 1/4 teaspoon salt together in a mixing bowl until sugar disolves.
If you like you can stir in nutmeg or cinnamon.
Slowly pour in the scalded milk, stirring like mad so you don't cook the eggs.
Strain into a 1 1/2 to 2-quart casserole and midrowave on medium power for 8 to 10 minutes.
If your microwave doesn't turn on its own, rotate every 3 minutes.

This is so quick and easy to make and tastes delicious.

If you want to make it a pie, cook in a 10-inch pie plate and then slide it into a 10-inch baked shell.
