NY chicken lover!!!!

Marquisella: 6 coops! *drool drool*.

We love scrounged things around here although lately we have been in the mode of "getting too much clutter - time to get rid of it!". Hey, if we haven't used it, maybe someone else can, ya know?

Needing hatching eggs for my son's class at school. PM me if you migh have some ameraucana hatching eggs for sale in the utica rome area. I need to find out more details about how many they need and when they are planning to incubate. They also want duck eggs, but if anyone has Sebistol ?sp? geese eggs, maybe they would want to do those. Anyway, more details to follow.

Cleaned coop - nice when it is warm to scrape everything down.

Don't be jealous, that is just one side of the barn. I have another coop onthe north side, 3 on the west side, and a couple inside the barn. I think I counted13, not counting the brooders and other cages for separatingt birds....yes...I'm over run! I have a pole barn, and my coops were added around the outside, and then inside the horse stalls, since I don't have many horses anymore...
Sebastapol geese are on the rare side, so you probably wont get any of them. You can always order from TSC, they said they are getting chicks mid February.

Oh. *dissappointment about the geese*. Oh well. Looking for hatching eggs anyway. Probably can't order them from TSC.

But all your coops!

Mine hates to have to use two when he can buy new and cut ONE. ME? I like free. Free and delivered is even better!!!

Once in a while I get ray to drive the truck around and pick up free stuff.....I got a bunch of wicker baskets that way. He's like "what are you going to do with those?" I said "use them" And I did....I used every single one, except one over the holidays. The one I didn't use I gave to my mom to make a basket for a gift for her neighbor.

I wish I drove a pick up truck and was STRONG. I would pick up a lot more stuff that way.

I will have to admit that we did use windows that were in the shop when we bought the house for the chicken coop. But since he was buidling the coop from new lumber he just framed the right size for the windows we had. Then he put vinyl siding on the coop, so he didn't have to paint it every few years. DUH!!! Hasn't he seen "free paint" on CL? Cuz I have.

Will have to admit that he did cut up the oak that fell across the road, that the owner said we could have the whole log if we wanted....but we burn wood, so that will save us money and it was OAK and directly across the road from the front door. (that's almost delivered. LOL)

Edited to add: Ladies, it was just explained to me why men don't think "free" is good enough. It has nothing to do with the quality of the free stuff, it has everything to do with the male ego and not feeling like they are able to provide well (meaning "new") for their family. Dayum....it makes sense, but I would rather he buy me a new airline ticket to FL and save money useing free lumber for repairs and building coops. How about you?

Not so, DW likes new. Me I just picked up two used printers as mine is giving me the fits. It's not that old but wont' grab the paper. So I went on CL and found a freebie. She also gave me a monitor she said might just need a new doohickie cord. I took but doubt it's any good.
I can hook up a second printer and work between the two until i see if i can fix the All in one.

Forgot to add, my motto is "for free I take , for buy I look".

But if only they could see that they could provide more for their family, if at least some of it is free
