Only about two inches of snow here but more in albany, where I had to work. Took me an hour and a half to get home, traffic was ridiculous!!! Girls left me lots of eggs tho - 22 today! =)

Chick Days at Agway starts in April. DH says go for it.![]()
I was picking up my order from my farm buying club this afternoon, and some of the gals asked me what I charge for eggs, as they want to get them from me. I told 'em two bucks a dozen, which made everyone happy. I also just happened to have seven dozen (!!!) in the car in an insulated bag (I love my bags - the eggs stay cold but don't freeze), as a couple of peeps from my family were supposed to come get them from me. The weather went cruddy, though, so I was going to have to stick them in the garage or back in the fridge. Nope - unloaded all seven. Sweet!
I have about 40 hens, but I have about 10 that are doing their nine month mini molt. I have at least one of pretty much everything, but my best layers right now are my leghorns, naked necks and the langshans.. Oh, and my Easter eggers.. My leghorns haven't molted yet and are 21 months old... They can take a break soon I hope!Still no chicks and it's cold. This is the third shipment from one transaction. Of course it hasn't cost the seller anything cuz he gets his money back for them not being on time.
Featherz - how many hens you got and what are they? I'm averaging 50% with the exception of the BR's which I don't think are laying at all and should be. Perhaps they will start when things warm up.
Buchwheat started laying when she was with Frenchy by themselves so I put her with the roos and no eggs. She's a frizzle and I want more.![]()
Tab, I hope that hannah feels better soon and sorry to hear about the fleur d'uccle. good luck with the hatch! The snowing and blowing started this morning while I was in urgent care with my youngest and it has gotten progressively worse. Hannah has had a cold since saturday and an ear infection started. My poor little girl looks awful! (it's probably because she isn't sleeping or eating well) Last night my mille fleur d'uccle pullet that had the prolapse died.![]()

My two Leghorn ladies continue to lay like they think that they're Pez dispensers. I have to start saving their eggs for my sister in a couple of weeks, as she wants them so my nephew can color Easter eggs. I don't think the brown eggs will color very well.![]()
