NY chicken lover!!!!

they are EE hens, mated to Sumatra. Black Rooster. I have eggs of theirs in the bator and all are developing. One EE is hawk colored, the other is white, with a touch of brown on her breast. Yes I sell fertile eggs. Being I only have a few that lay them, it takes me a few days to get enough eggs together. PM me if interested. I just sold a dozen of them yesterday to a fellow BYC'er.
I also have a few bantam sumatra's that lay a robin egg colored egg. Big eggs for a bantam Sumatra. They are also all blue girls interesting enough. one of the blue Sumatra's , her name is lil blue, hangs only with a blue rooster. Those 2 gave me my one and only slash Sumatra. Hoping for more splashes. The other blue sumatra blue egg layers are lil blues offspring. Lil Blue is about 2 years old, and her offspring are all born last year. Some I incubated, most are born to broody's. I gave the broody's lil blues eggs. lil blue goes broody, but is ferrel and tries to nest in unsafe places and I always have to break her.
Stony - what type of chickens are your blue layers? We have some true Ameraucana eggs in the bator right now from a local farmer friend but I think they're all duds. Do you sell fertile eggs?

I want to add to our flock this year with some very dark egg layers and a couple more blue or green layers. I'd also like D'uccles and a brown leghorn. ::sigh:: :)

I got chicks. SOOOOO cute. Now to just get feathers on them so they don't freeze.

OH, and I have 3 - 4 of the Sumantras given away. Hurry up second batch of chickies.

(Stony, you just KNEW Happyhensny was gonna want some if they came across the river. LOL)

Thanks alot Cass! Cass snuck in the Sumatra idea to my 12 yo DD. "Wouldn't you love to have some?" Well, duh! Of course a 12 yo little girl would love to have some, they are beautiful! I don't mind though, they are quite cool!

Hey hey...I've been unjustly accused here. I discussed giving her daughter Sumantras *right in front of her*.

What she didn't hear was the discussion about my growing the chicks out long enough to sex before giving them to her so she was sure to have at least one roo.

Of course I didn't discuss ANY of it with happyhensny BEFORE I talked to her daughter. oops.

Cass - Love you girl! They are awesome and we certainly would love them. You are great and so kind to share and Stonykill the awesome provider of georgeous chickies. DD is so excited. We actually looked at some Sumatras at the NE Poultry Congress in Ma in January. Honestly, I am also extremely excited.

Now, instead of getting TSC chicks I could meet you over there again and set you up with a couple more BA's & Chanties.

Unless of course, Stonykill would like them....

It's definitely time to put the eggs that are sitting out in the garage in my egg basket into cartons. Alan was bringing the dogs in just now. The basket, which is chock-full, is sitting on a little ledge by the stairs leading down into the laundry room. As she passed by, my dog Maggie casually reached over and helped herself to an egg from the top of the basket.

When there are so many in there that the dogs don't have to work to help themselves, I guess I need to box 'em up!
