NY chicken lover!!!!

Too bad we aren't closer. I have hatching now (this minute!) BBS Orpingtons, Australorps and alot of Porcelain D'Uccles. Good luck on your chick search and welcome!

Hi Cass! See you tomorrow! I can sneak some of these chicks in your car you know....

I'll bring my heat packs (cuz I have to go to train station) and we'll discuss the 4 left that hatched at the same time mine did (cuz I don't have a threeple brooder, just a dual)

Oh no! Those are Claires, rumpless and 2 are tufted, Araucanas. I am going to need to find loving homes for the babies that are hatching as we type. 1 out, 1 zipped and alot (18?) left to go. Out of this batch there will be D'Uccles and BBS Orps available. Oh, so cute!

Ooooo, I've been intrigued by the B/B/S orpingtons. I like unique colors. (look - shiny objects!) Hubby already stated that we are not getting into breeding chickens. HAHAHAHA. I didn't want any roos the first year, until we figured out which breed(s) we liked best of the group and then add a roo or two. But if straight run is the only option, then we will be having a roo or two to start.

Tab & Trav - what kinds to you have now or coming up?

On another note, we seem to have acquired a barn rooster. Belongs to our Amish neighbors, rogue rooster escaped the shed they are closed in and they haven't been able to catch him. Now that the weather is warmed, horse barn doors are open and he has discovered the grain dropped on the floor by my 33-year-old. Little girl thinks it is great to go visit the chickys and ponies every night.

Today I ran into my chick enabler and she says someone in TX might want my B/B/Lav splash orpington Roo cause he's barred... Can you mail a 1yo roo that far?

12 Turkey eggs in bator today... adding chicken eggs on Sunday.

Hellooo and welcome! Yes good ideal...no roosters..hehehe...then you can buy all the chicks you need from BYC!
