You are NOT going to believe this.... I have a PIP in one of eggs in my $18 incubator....one of the eggs that the cat knocked out of the 'bator and was on the floor for I don't know how long at about day 10. I put them back in when I found them and let them go for another 11 days. Well, it's day 22 and I have a PIP!!!! I don't know if the chick is gonna make it....it's always a cr*p shoot when it comes to hatching eggs.

Good luck, chickie!

I am going to have a hard time sleeping tonight....I Soooo hope I have a chick by morning. Would be even better if the second egg hatched so I am not raising a lone chick.

Night to all who can sleep. Gotta go bring a chick in from the brooder to cheep at the egg and encourage it.

OMG the second egg has a pip!!! I soooo hope they make it. Come on chickies!!!!
Congratulations! Take some pics when they hatch. Ours aren't due till next weekend.

Yesterday my parents had my girls so I was outside working on moving mulch and giving my horses attention. They don't get the amount they deserve because I worry about my girls getting under their feet.

I set mine on wednesday. I hope your eggs do well!

Cass did your chick hatch? I have to go to work and hopefully will be able to check the thread before falling asleep tonight. Maybe I will skip riding my horse....how sad is that? Skip riding my horse so I can come read this thread!!!! It is better than any soap opera!!

pharmchickrnmom 3 days to chick arrival!!

Just looked at the radar. Looks like we should be having quite a snowfall. Looked out the window...nothing. I hope things stay that way...though we could use some rain...

Have a good day everyone!!!!

ONE HATCHED!!! I thought the second egg had a pip, but it didn't....Domed glass/optical illision.

This incubator is less than 9 inches around, has hollow molded plastic legs you fill with water, a thermometer that cost 12/$1.00 and uses a night light bulb and aluminum Foil to reflect the heat toward the egg. I turned the eggs twice a day, every day (three times one day, cuz I couldn't remember if I did it in the morning or not). The eggs were pullet eggs. The hen hadn't laid more than 5 eggs prior to my putting 2 in the bator.

Sooooo all of you who worry and monitor, worry and spend more money on better equipment, worry and well, worry....Don't worry, be happy....cuz eggs aren't as picky as you have been lead to believe.

BTW, I have the cutest chick in the world. Just so you know.

woot!! Maybe the other one will hatch too? =) Now you need more chicks to go with it, right? Or go wave it around the adult girls and see if anyone wants to go broody and take it LOL. I have a broody right now, but I don't think she's been sitting long enough to take a chick. :p

Yippee for your egg Cass. Hope the others hatch well. We need pics of course.

Woke up to snow this morning. Had rain before it and now after it. Hope it doesnt kill all the buds on the trees. My darling divas were livid when I opened the pop door and they saw the evil white stuff. I heard all about it the whole time I was out there. They refuse to leave the coop. Sigh....how did I ever end up with such picky chickens? The kids ran out though. My silkies dont seem to mind the snow. Little Man has become quite amorous of late and i felt like I had chicken porn on my lawn yesterday. He was all over the girls. Might have to build a bachelor pad so the girls can relax and just be girls!

Hoping this stuff moves through soon and it warms up so the roads melt a bit before I have to go to work. March is certainly going out like a lion, but with a softer roar.
