I don't know but its page link is under my user name.
I did tar round the vents and solar panel today when I got home from work. It was the kind that can be used in the rain since its been threatening all day. Fingers crossed it does the trick. The only reason I hope we get rain is so I can see if it worked lol
Ah, yes, I've heard of a similar recipe using Skin-so-Soft. But with something else, maybe white vinegar?

Thanks JLaw! I'll see if I can get something figured out, I really don't want to lose another baby.
Suppose I should go check in on the chickens, see if it is still alive or if Luna decided to crush another 1 or 5.![]()
Edit: The little injured chick died. Was laying flat on its back, kinda like a turtle. Good thing I have a big horse manure pile to bury all these little bodies in.Down to 2 Welsummers, 1 Partridge Rock, 1 Speckled Sussex.![]()
Breella,You can make your own fly spray! My recipe that I use for my horse is:
1 cup Avon Skin So Soft bath oil
1 cup mouthwash, any flavor you want
a few drops of scented oil of your choice
I like to emulsify in blender and then put to a spray bottle.
Glad to hear that your birds are doing well after your scare.Hen---adorable picture! You mean you werent really a BLRW??? Must be the drugs.
My two baby silkies are doing well and the little monsters are quick as lightning. I thought they wouldnt be able to make it up the ramp into the coop so I was trying to grab them to put them back in last night and boom! they zipped up that ramp so fast! Guess I dont need to worry about them after all! Momma Eowyn is doing a good job taking care of them and Arwin and Legolas are being good with them. Mostly. Legolas is not the brightest bulb and he sometimes steps on them when he gets excited. He is kinda like a bull in a china shop and leaves a trail of destruction behind when he gets excited. For such a little guy, he makes a huge mess! I love him though. He lets me do whatever I want to him. He still hasnt learned to leave Little Man or his women alone. Gets his butt beat down every time he tries to go after them. Sigh. some guys just never learn.
My terrorist girls seem a little more relaxed now that Olaf is gone. I guess not being mated all the time is a huge relief and their feathers are starting to grow back. The weather is throwing off their egg laying a bit. The divas are laying pretty good for 3 year old hens. They are keeping the tater tot boys in check. I guess it takes longer for heritage breeds to mature. The boys waddles have not really developed yet even though their combs are pinked up. Tail feathers are growing out too. At three months, the taters are almost as big as the divas. They still have filling out to do. I swear that a couple of my divas must be a good 8 or 9 pounds from the feel of them when I picked them up. Solid bodies.
Off to a verrrrryyyyy long day at work. Cant wait for vacation. Neither can my feet!
I have met Heni and can verify that indeed she is a person and not a BLRW!!Thanks, everyone, for all the thoughts and prayers and words of comfort - they mean so much to us.![]()
Unfortunately, one of the baby duckehs was weak on hatching, so, not surprisingly, I lost it. The other three are hale and hearty, though, and are following their hen-mama around all over the place. One of my Rouen hens is broodyish, and is fascinated by the ducklings. I think she'd steal them if she got the chance, but when she tries to interact with them they look at her like, "and you are?"
Meanwhile, the turkeys are growing like weeds. This one is my new favorite. It's a White Holland, is friendly as anything, goes nuts trying to get to me when I'm in the garage with them, and is happy to follow me around or sit on my arm, eyes closed and making happy, contented sounds. This one stays, and gets to live long and prosper, because it's such a cool bird.
Turkey photobomb! Yeah, yeah, now everyone can tell that I'm not actually a BLRW.![]()
